When your budget update sounds like “not much to see here.”
This week, Frankie and Sarah sit down with Baker Tilly tax partner Rosa Maria Iuliano, who’s been decoding federal budgets for over two decades. Together, they dive into the 2025 federal budget, what’s new, what’s missing, and what’s been quietly pushed aside.
From the long-awaited elimination of the underused housing tax to CRA’s renewed focus on personal services businesses, they explore what’s relevant for professionals, business owners, and anyone just trying to file without the drama. And while it may have been a “boring” tax budget year, that might just be the good news we all needed.

We’re so grateful to Baker Tilly Ottawa LLP for their generous support that allows us to offer scholarships for the 2025 Businesswoman of the Year Awards. 💚
Because of this generosity, we’re able to open the doors wider and invite women to experience the BYAs who otherwise wouldn’t have had access. This sponsorship helps ensure that more voices, stories, and perspectives are celebrated in our community.
The WBN supports women business leaders of tomorrow with three annual scholarships, awarded in recognition of scholastic and leadership achievements. As the Scholarship Sponsor, Bakertilly receives all the benefits of a Gold sponsor package, along with this exclusive opportunity to empower the next generation of leaders.
