📢 Ontario Minimum Wage Increase Effective October 1, 2026

The Government of Ontario has announced an increase to the provincial minimum wage rates effective October 1, 2026.

✅ General Minimum Wage: $17.95/hour (up from $17.60/hour)

Other rates include:
• Student Minimum Wage: $16.90/hour
• Homeworkers Minimum Wage: $19.70/hour
• Hunting, Fishing & Wilderness Guides:

Less than 5 consecutive hours: $89.75/day
5 or more consecutive hours: $179.50/day

✔️ T4 – If you worked as an employee
✔️ T4E – If you received Employment Insurance (EI)
✔️ T4A – If you earned other income (contract work, scholarships, some pensions)
✔️ T3 – If you received income from trusts or mutual funds
✔️ T5 – If you earned interest or dividends
✔️ T5008 – If you sold investments (stocks, ETFs, mutual funds)
✔️ T2202 / TL11 – If you paid eligible tuition fees
✔️ RRSP Contribution Receipt – If you contributed to an RRSP
✔️ FHSA Contribution Receipt – If you contributed to a First Home Savings Account
✔️ T4RSP – If you withdrew money from an RRSP

CANADA TAX DEADLINES – 2026

Tax season 2026 is coming up! Save these important dates to avoid CRA late‑filing penalties and interest:

🍁 Personal (T1) returns

File by: April 30, 2026
Pay any balance by: April 30, 2026
🍁 Self-employed

File by: June 15, 2026
Pay any balance by: April 30, 2026
🍁 Corporations (T2)

File by: 6 months after fiscal year-end
Pay balance owing:
2 months after year-end (most corporations)
3 months for eligible CCPCs under small business deduction
🍁 GST/HST (Business)

Annual filer: Return + payment due 3 months after GST period-end
Monthly/Quarterly filer: Due 1 month after GST period-end
🍁 When can individuals file online?

CRA typically opens NETFILE/EFILE in late February
Will update when CRA releases the official 2026 opening date
⚠️ Late Filing = Penalties + daily interest + delayed benefits
