Sometimes having more financial information doesn't make you feel more informed. It makes you feel more overwhelmed.
I see this all the time.
Someone has been doing their homework.
They've read the articles.
They've watched the videos.
They've listened to the podcasts.
They've asked ChatGPT.
They've talked to their neighbour.
They've Googled "Should I pay off my mortgage or invest?" approximately 47 times.
And somehow, they feel less confident than when they started.
The problem isn't a lack of information.
It's that information without context can be incredibly difficult to turn into a decision.
There will always be someone telling you that you should invest more.
Someone else will tell you that you should pay off your debt.
Someone will tell you real estate is the answer.
Someone else will tell you the stock market is the answer.
And somewhere in the middle of all of that noise is your actual life.
Your income.
Your family.
Your business.
Your goals.
Your risk tolerance.
Your timeline.
Your priorities.
This is where I think a financial planner can provide something incredibly valuable: perspective.
Not another opinion.
Not another product.
Not another piece of information.
A place where you can bring all of the information you've gathered and ask:
"Okay...what actually applies to me?"
Financial planning shouldn't leave you feeling like you need to become a financial expert.
It should help you feel confident enough to make decisions without becoming one.
What's one financial topic you've found surprisingly overwhelming?

AI can give you an answer. But can it know what that answer means to you?
I use technology every day in my business. I love having access to information, research, analysis and tools that make financial planning more efficient.
And yes, I even use AI.
But there is one part of financial planning that I don't believe technology can replace: the human relationship.
Because financial planning isn't just about numbers.
It's about the couple who can't agree on when they should retire.
It's about the business owner who says they're comfortable with risk but loses sleep when the market drops.
It's about the woman who has always let someone else handle the finances and is finally ready to understand them herself.
Those aren't spreadsheet problems.
They're human problems.
A good financial plan needs to account for your goals, your numbers, your risks and your opportunities.
But it also needs to account for your values, your emotions, your relationships and the life you're actually trying to build.
Technology can help me do my job better.
It can help me find information faster.
It can help organize and analyze data.
But it can't sit across the table from you and notice that something doesn't feel right.
And sometimes, that's the most important piece of information in the room.
What's one part of your financial life where having a real person to talk to matters to you?

Estate planning isn't just about what happens after you're gone.
It's about protecting the people and values that matter most.
A complete financial plan considers:
• Your will
• Powers of attorney
• Beneficiary designations
• Tax implications
• Insurance
• Family goals
• Business succession, if applicable
When these pieces work together, your wishes are clearer and your loved ones are better protected.
Estate planning isn't a conversation for "someday."
It's part of planning well today.
If you haven't reviewed your estate plan recently, I'd be happy to help you identify where to start.

The best financial plans aren't built around products. They're built around people.
Investments.
Insurance.
Tax planning.
Estate planning.
Employee benefits.
Savings strategies.
Each serves a purpose—but none of them should exist on their own.
When they're connected through thoughtful, holistic financial planning, every decision becomes more intentional and every piece supports the next.
That's the value of working with someone who looks beyond individual products and focuses on your entire financial life.
If you're ready to see how all of the pieces fit together, I'd love to help.
Book a conversation and let's build a financial plan that's as unique as you are.

Saving money and investing money are not the same thing.
Your emergency fund.
Your vacation savings.
Your retirement investments.
Your child's education.
Your future home.
Each has a different purpose.
Each may require a different strategy.
Holistic financial planning ensures your money is working in the right place for the right goal at the right time.
It's not about choosing one account or one investment.
It's about making sure every dollar has a purpose.
Need help organizing your financial priorities? Let's build a strategy together.

Many people assume their workplace benefits provide all the protection they'll ever need.
Sometimes they do.
Often, they don't.
A holistic financial plan reviews:
• Group life insurance
• Disability coverage
• Extended health and dental
• Critical illness benefits
• Coverage limits
• What happens if you change employers or retire
Your benefits are an important part of your financial picture—but they shouldn't be viewed in isolation.
Understanding where your workplace coverage ends helps you decide whether anything else is needed.
Let's review your benefits together and make sure they support your overall plan.

Life doesn't wait. Neither should your financial protection.
Many people delay getting insurance because they're healthy, busy, or think they'll "get around to it later."
The challenge is that insurance is designed to protect you before life changes.
Not after.
Waiting could mean:
✔️ Higher premiums
✔️ Changes in eligibility
✔️ No coverage when you need it most
You can't predict the unexpected, but you can prepare for it.
If you've been putting off reviewing your insurance, now is a great time to start the conversation.
Waiting until the end of the year, or until "things settle down," doesn't reduce the risk.
It just leaves you exposed longer.
If you've been putting this conversation off, this is your reminder that there's no upside to waiting.
Let's talk.

Your financial plan shouldn't be frozen in time.
Your life changes. Your priorities change. Your income changes.
So why would your financial plan stay exactly the same?
My August LinkedIn newsletter explores why a financial plan should evolve alongside your life—and the questions worth asking when things change.
Because financial planning isn't about creating a perfect plan once.
It's about creating a plan that continues to make sense for you.
