Thank you for all the referrals this year and to returning customers. We are on the 16th business day of tax season and have already completed over 100 tax returns! Busy year so far.

Once your returns are filed, i provide you with a copy of your tax return, CRA provides you with a copy of your Notice of Assessment. Due to increased requests for more copies of returns, notice of assessments and/or line numbers from previously supplied copies, there will now be a $15.00 charge for extra requests. Providing these extra copies can be time consuming and takes me away from other work.

I have had many people asking for credit card payment options. With more and more people asking, I do now accept credit and debit cards.

Important tax dates.

February 19, 2024: Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) and Revenue Québec will open NETFILE and ReFILE services for tax year 2023.

February 29, 2024: RRSP contribution deadline.

April 30, 2024: Taxes are due

April 30, 2024. Any taxes owing balance is due today too. Even for those self-employed and therefore not required to file until June 17th – your taxes owing balance is due to be paid today too.

June 17, 2024: The tax filing deadline for those self-employed and those Canadians with US tax filing obligations.

The Efile lines will be closed from Jan 26 to Feb 18, reopening on Feb 19 for the tax filing season. T4s have to be submitted by Feb 29. I can efile as of Feb 19, however please make sure you have all your t4s and other tax slips.

Monday morning fun

First snow fall of the year... that means tax time is that much closer. Almost time for the small companies to get their books in order for taxes. I am still accepting new sole proprietor and corporate bookkeeping clients.

I have uploaded files to my website to make tax time a little easier for some of you. These files include a new client intake form as well as expense sheets for those with medical, donations, rental and self employment expenses. Please take a look and fill out any that you may need.
