It's almost time!

Tomorrow night is the first of our Night(s) of Lights events!

For this special nighttime event we've designed a fun and safe "Event Loop" to ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable experience, both humans AND animals!

Take a look at the photo to familiarize yourself with the loop before you arrive!

Please note!
Some of the trails will be closed for the evening and the following animals will not be visible:
🐾Wolves
🐾Pine Marten
🐾Peregrine Falcon
🐾Coyotes

As for our other animal friends that are located along the holiday trail please note that they may be enjoying their downtime and might choose to be out of view during your visit.

**** HRM Release

Upcoming Halifax Regional Fire & Emergency recruitment and information sessions

Halifax Regional Fire & Emergency (HRFE) will accept applications for career firefighters from Jan. 6 to Jan. 20, 2026. Career firefighters protect life, property and the environment through emergency response and preparedness.

HRFE will host several in-person and virtual information sessions from Dec. 8 to Dec. 17, 2025 for prospective applicants. These sessions will help candidates learn more about the recruitment process. To find a session near you, please visit our website.

The recruitment process includes multiple phases: an application, aptitude testing, physical abilities testing and a panel interview. Each phase assesses skills and competencies required for the role. Becoming a firefighter requires dedication, preparation and a strong commitment to meeting the physical and mental demands of the profession.

Firefighting is both challenging and rewarding, with long shifts in highly physical environments. Careers with HRFE offer competitive salaries and a flexible work schedule.
