Marriage can affect more than your relationship status. It can also change your taxes, benefits, and credits.

Make sure you:

- Update your marital status with the CRA by the end of the month following the month you got married

- Keep your address and personal information current

- Have your spouse’s income information available when filing your tax return

- Review how your combined family income could affect benefits and credits

The CRA recalculates certain benefits and credits based on your new marital status and adjusted family net income.

Save this post for later and follow for more practical tax, and business finance tips.

Two businesses. One marriage. And somehow, never enough hours in the day. 😂

We did the “send me a picture every hour of your day” trend, and this is what life looks like when two people are doing their best to figure out this whole entrepreneur thing while cheering the other one on😅

Between Upkeep Accounting and Herb Rose Automotive, from sun up to sun down our days are filled with work, meetings, customers, emails, projects, and a whole lot of “I’ll call you back!” 😂

It’s busy, it’s chaotic, but we wouldn’t have it any other way. ❤️
