Every year, it’s the same question — when can tax returns actually be filed?

Tax returns for 2025 can be submitted starting February 23, 2026.

Just a reminder: no matter which category you fall into, if you end up owing taxes, the payment is due by April 30 — the same date most people are required to file.

The exception is self-employed individuals:

They can file their return up to June 15,
But any balance owing is still due by April 30.
