Gregg Distributors has been around for nearly 60 years - our old family business used to supply them with stock!

Allied Brake and Clutch may no longer be around, but Allied Asset Management is. If anyone in my network or attached to it is going to be affected by this buyout, I would love to connect.

Mark your calendars for June 1st - our last presentation at NESA before we break for the summer! This will be a great session for retirees looking for tips on strucuturing their investment portfolio for "paycheques" in retirement.

I had to stop by the bank today and was helped by a young lad who looked very much like a summer intern.

I was right - he's a business student at Concordia and this is his first job in the Financial Services sector. I have to say it was a pleasure chatting with him.

After I left I realized that, now that we are into May, it has been a whole 14 years since I sat in a similar chair.

This blurry old photo is from May 7, 2012 - the day I started as a summer intern at RBC. The day I started in the finance industry. It feels like a lifetime ago - suffice to say my waistline has grown a couple inches and I've sprouted a few grey hairs since then, but I still remember walking into the RBC branch at 18th and Van Horne in Brandon, MB on my first day eager to get my career started.

14 years later:

-> I've had a total of 7 different roles with various institutions in the industry

-> I relocated to Edmonton for a variety of reasons, some personal and some professional

-> I'm now a fully-licensed Investment Advisor with Raymond James

-> I've learned a lot, but there is still so much left to learn

Anywho. Thanks for reading my life story!

I guess a moral to this story is that the years really do fly by. Remember to enjoy the journey.

An extra fun fact - the building this photo was taken in isn't even there anymore! It was plowed down to make room for a brand new branch later that year.

What a weekend!

Steve Reimer and I spent the weekend chatting with people at The Great Canadian Trade Fair in Sherwood Park.

Tons of great connections were made. Thanks so much to the Sherwood Park and District Chamber of Commerce and all the individuals involved in bringing this event to life and making it such a success! Can't wait to do it again next year.
