Are you still submitting your GST/HST returns in paper format? As of 2024, most GST/HST registrants are required to file their returns electronically.
Failure to comply may result in a $100 penalty for the first instance and $250 for each subsequent instance.
Note that charities and selected listed financial institutions (SLFIs) are exempt from this requirement. If you are unable to file electronically, you may request an exemption from the CRA on a case-by-case basis. Ensure you stay informed and maintain GST/HST compliance.

The Canada Carbon Rebate for Small Businesses is now tax-free, and this change may affect how your corporation's rebate was reported on its T2 return.
If your corporation previously included the rebate in taxable income, here's what CRA says:
Filed before June 30, 2025?
CRA may automatically adjust your T2 return if the rebate was clearly identified on Schedule 1. You generally don't need to request an adjustment in that situation.
Filed after June 30, 2025?
If you included the rebate in taxable income, you will need to request a reassessment of your T2 return to remove the rebate from taxable income.
Not sure how your rebate was reported? Reviewing your corporate return can help ensure the new non-taxable treatment is applied correctly.
