B.C.’s lowest-paid workers will see a 2.6% wage increase on June 1, 2025, keeping pace with inflation.

The general minimum wage increases from $17.40 to $17.85 per hour.

This follows the changes made in spring 2024 to the Employment Standards Act, which mandated annual wage increases.

April 30 was the deadline for personal tax returns. Now onto sole proprietorship tax returns with a deadline of June 15
Keeping in mind if you owe money, you will have penalty and interest assessed since the payment was supposed to be made yesterday, to avoid any penalty or interest

Minimum wage In B.C., employees must be paid a minimum wage per hour unless they are a liquor server, resident caretaker, live-in home support worker or farmworker

Please note that the CRA is issuing express NOA’s and they may not have all the information.

As it appears that carry forward credits need to have an actual person to asses the tax return.

When the strike is over and they get people back to work they should be reviewed and corrected.

Tax season is now upon us, don’t wait too long to get your tax return done.

The personal tax return deadline is April 30, 2023 with this being a Sunday the final day will be May 1, 2023

If you are self employed the deadline is June15, 2023 and if you owe taxes they are due to be paid by April 30, 2023
