COMMENCEMENT OF THE FINANCIAL INTELLIGENCE ACT (2019) AND THE FINANCIAL INTELLIGENCE REGULATIONS (2019)
1. We refer to the above stated subject matter.
2. NBFIs are hereby informed of the commencement of the Financial Intelligence Act 2019 (“the Act”) and the Financial Intelligence Regulations 2019 (“the regulations”) on the 4th September 2019.
3. NBFIs are therefore advised to familiarise themselves with the Act, comply with their obligations therein as well as review their policies and internal processes accordingly to prevent, suppress, and disrupt money laundering, proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and the financing of terrorism.
4. The Act and the Regulations are now available and accessible on the NBFIRA website. www.nbfira.org.bw

In order to become a Financial Planner, one ought to adhere to the Financial Planning Standards Board's (FPSB) process which consist of six steps.
These steps are:
1. Establish & define relationship with the client
2. Collecting client's information
3. Analyse and assess the client's financial status
4. Develop the financial planning reccomendations and present to client
5.Implement clients's financial recommendations
6. Review client's situation
