2-3 years later, same spot, same order of beef bolognese and iced americano at Mr Baker’s Pavo Point, same old me.

Difference is, instead of a nomadic agent I was, I now have a table to operate from in the office. I still carry the same equipment with me on my bag 80% of the time.

In the past 30-40 months, I have grown my hair longer, and trim them back to similar length a dozen times. I have acquired more clientele and expanded the demographics I serve. I have missed a number of meals for several reasons, yet picking up more fitness routines keeping my whole person in shape.

Past two years was a breaking point for me. For I moved out of Pavo, and now I have decided to base back here again in 2024.

In between the major change is my ownership to picking up leadership role. A lone wolf solo ranger I thought I always was, but my true confession is, wolves howl in a pack, and I never like running on my own.

As this ugly duckling wolf joins back the evolving herd, as I sat at this corner of the cafe again reflecting on the conversations I have had with my team, I can’t help but to relate, to those ego-crushing tears-wrenching moments I had with my mentor figures.

I recruit wellbeing oriented people into my team. But one thing that we all share in common perhaps.. is we don’t want… and we refuse our feral self to be tamed.

Instead of domesticating or be domesticated, I aspire to create an environment so we can live peacefully respecting each other, while we bloom in our own way.

Team AY, as a subgroup of ALPs, is made up of unique individuals with distinct personalities. We are maybe equivalent to “The Greatest Show”.

One week into the new year, please allow me to park my mixed feelings here.

In 2023, I gained 1 year of full time experience becoming a employer for a small team of 1+1. I had 4 Masters Interns for 8 weeks. I unknowingly wrapped up the year with 3 contracted recruits under my wing.

As I was going through these newly added responsibilities, I had a number of opportunities to reconnect with a handful of old friends, whom knew the older younger Amy.

As I continue to be my usual self immersing in each and every precious conversations, I also tend to notice myself spotting some realisations.. of how taking up a leadership role makes me feel like a tortoise, getting washed down the streams.

“The best way to learn, is to teach”.

As some old friends share some familiar stories again, I understand why my mentors kept pointing about my stuck belief. And as I coach my own team too, I see the why that my mentors let me work things out myself too.

“It’s only when the students are ready, the teachers will appear”.

Being a Insurance Agent is my best golden turning point I truly believe. I have had been an angry teen growing up. And I learnt to numb my feelings along the way. “Nothing will change anyway”

But in 2022-2023, I see how these old connections started treating me differently, as they spelt out “you are successful now” - do read this in all kinds of tonality. I am equally confused too.

It is only when you enter a business world, you would know what a true entrepreneur has to go through.
It is only when you become a parent only then you know what responsibility you have to bring up this new life.
It is only when you have people who rely on you to earn a better living, then you realise what leadership is about.

Noone has gotten success without making some tradeoffs. Mine? I think it is a lot of grieving for lost relationships.

When life gets dark, keep moving forward. As we sing Mayday 五月天’s #乾杯 together, do know that the Dawn is breaking so catch the sunrise, and embrace it with a grin.

As I soak myself in the hopefuly rays of 2024, swimming the waves off the stream into the sea made me realised, I am actually a turtle.

Throwback to that one week in Nov-22 at Singapore. It has been a year.. or has it only just twelve months? I am always dumbfounded, for the intensity of my life I have lived since last November has been tremendous, 🎢 beyond words.

欲哭无泪，所以以苦为乐。这过去的三百多天里，我学会了认清。

认清了现实，更认清了自己。
认清了卸下无谓的自尊后，
认清了小小芝麻我有大大的梦想。

Growing up disliking city, never had I imagined myself ended up being changed, because of an exchange program for a mere one week, in the city country.

Over this year, Singapore now means a lot more than just a transit airport to visit my Uni bestie.

In conclusion, I know that I will continually look back at 2022-2023 knowing this was the new turning point in my life. Thank you .bn and .bn for allowing me to onboard this program ☺️

Last weekend financial talk “from FOMO to JOMO” with , we talked about how to go from Fear of Missing out to Joy of Missing Out.

One of the key exercises I did with the 20 participants is to do Warren Buffet’s 5/25 Rule. List down the Top 25 Goals you want to do, and prioritise only the Top 5.

This should spell out clear to you, what’s important to you in your life. And those events that aren’t adding any value to the 5 (or even the 25!), then learn to say “No. Thank you, next!”

Honestly I was contemplative if I should have rejected the talk, considering my hectic year end schedule with additional commitments on course + licensing + recruiting training…

However considering is always high on my life goal, here we go.

【 科技網路詐騙手法 】

這兩天收到很多朋友們的關心慰問，很感恩大家的掛念。也很謝謝客人和會員們留言或私訊給我，幫我打氣加油。

因為適逢『唯有機』七週年生日慶，品牌一年一度的盛事，所以手邊待辦工作相當繁忙。昨天一邊與英國的資安系統公司諮詢，立刻執行危機處理。同時與公司主要承辦人員和法國供應商會議，釐清還原整個詐騙的始末，無法及時回覆大家的訊息或留言，還懇請見諒。

在我了解整個詐騙的經過之後，不得不讚嘆，現在這些高科技的駭客詐騙手法，已經高超到一個極難防範的境界。也希望藉由我的慘痛經驗，可以讓大家能夠提高警覺，避免發生這樣的損失。
​

​
​
事件的始末大致是這樣的。

​
大約一年前，我們與一家新合作的法國生產供應商開始洽談，委託新產品的製造。由於產品開發的初期非常攏長，我們已經來來回回溝通了長達一年的時間，終於在近期完成了樣品的確認和合約簽訂，準備下訂單付款，開始進行生產。
​
​
這整整一年，我們與這家法國供應商的信件溝通都沒有任何異狀。無論是產品開發討論、會議的安排規劃，我們都是用電郵來與對方聯繫，伴隨時間的堆疊，以及產品逐漸的成形，我們也建立了跨國遠距的信任夥伴關係。
​
​
就在上週我們下完訂單之後，準備要支付訂金貨款時，我們請供應商提供他們的銀行匯款帳號。
​
​
供應商所提供的銀行匯款，帳戶名稱跟這家公司登記的名稱完全相同，比較詭異的是，明明是法國的公司但銀行所在地卻不是法國，而是在葡萄牙的里斯本。
​
​
這一點讓我和承辦同事忍不住起了疑心，於是我吩咐同事再次跟供應商進行確認。承辦同事再度寫信給廠商確認銀行帳號，並且提出我們的質疑，但對方窗口也再次強調申明並確認帳號無誤，付訂之後就會開始進行生產。
​
​
​
但萬萬都想不到，我們之間的這些電郵溝通，一直都被遠在印度的駭客監視著。駭客長期來監視著我們的對話和溝通，等到即將要支付款項的時候，他們才浮出水面，假冒供應商的身份寄信給我們，提供他們詐騙的銀行帳號。而為了避免被發現，詐騙駭客將法國供應商的所有聯繫人的email 帳號 ，竄改成無法令人一眼就能看出破綻的假冒帳號。
​
​
例如：法國供應商原來的電郵帳號是 [email protected] ，駭客重新創造了一個假的帳號 [email protected]，偷偷改了一個英文字母，把字母 i 改成字母 l ，然後用這個假冒的帳號發信給我的承辦同事，並且裝扮成供應商的窗口與我們進行溝通對話，提供他們詐騙的銀行帳號。

當我們完成匯款之後，寫信詢問對方是否收到款項，駭客回信說大約要3-5天才會入帳，但我們等到第三天的時候就覺得不太對勁，直接打給供應商確認，才發現了銀行匯款帳號並不是他們的公司的帳號，而我們被詐騙了。
​
​
當然這筆貨款要追回來的可能性幾乎微乎其微，因為通常這些詐騙集團收到款項之後，便又立刻轉出至他們其他所在地的銀行帳戶，也很難抓到這些躲在電腦銀幕後面的人，究竟人在何方。
​
​
​
根據英國這邊的資安系統公司表示，疫情後的科技駭客詐騙越來越嚴重，尤其是企業間的國際電匯詐騙的這一套手法，對象多半鎖定在有進行國際貿易或者是跨國購置房地產的對象身上。

駭客還會從一些人力網站上面，找尋各家企業裡負責財務的員工或者高階主管下手，在這些人力網上取得他們的公司 email帳號後入侵監視，再假冒高階主管的電郵（同樣是竄改一個英文字母）發信給同事，請下屬支付款項到詐騙集團的帳號裡。
​
​
簡單來說，沒有仔細注意好寄件人的電郵帳號是否正確，隨時都有可能是一個陌生人，在這世界上的某處，假扮著你所認識的人來跟你對話。
​
​
要如何避免這樣的事件再發生呢？
​
​
最土法煉鋼的方式，就是匯款的時候一定要致電給對方，口頭核對匯款帳號。但如果要避免被駭客入侵，不讓自己的任何資訊暴露在高風險的網路世界裡，下面幾個方式是無論企業或者個人電郵都可以加強的重點。
​
​
​
​
1. 進行安全檢查
​
添加或更新您的帳戶恢復選項
在您的所有帳戶（包括社交媒體）上啟用兩步驗證
請注意您允許哪些應用程序訪問敏感信息
如果您通過公共 Wi-Fi 開展業務，請使用 VPN
打開所有設備上的屏幕鎖定
​
​
2.更新軟件
您的瀏覽器、操作系統和應用程序應始終更新。 更新有助於修補安全漏洞。 這些是黑客將使用打包到惡意軟件中的代碼作為目標的軟件漏洞。
​
​
3.使用獨特而強大的密碼
使用密碼管理器，為每個帳戶生成一個唯一的密碼
如果您使用 Google Chrome 瀏覽器，請開啟密碼警示以了解網站是否在冒充 Google。
​
​
4.避免安裝未知應用
刪除對您的工作不重要的所有應用程序或瀏覽器擴展。
​
​
5. 懷疑所有的交流
駭客使用來自受信任機構和專業人士的電子郵件、短信、Facebook 和 LinkedIn 消息、欺騙性電話以及網站門戶。檢查電子郵件地址和發件人姓名是否匹配。
​
​
6. 備份舊郵件
如果您出於審計目的需要存儲舊電子郵件，請考慮將它們存儲在外部硬盤驅動器中或使用具有內置安全性的文檔管理軟件。
​
​
7. 與您的電子郵件提供商聯繫以找到您的安全選項，檢查您的消息是否被轉發到未知帳戶，並且沒有未知人員可以訪問您的帳戶。
​
​
8. 聘請 IT 顧問
如果您無法擁有內部團隊，請與您所在地熟悉的 IT 公司合作。 顧問可以幫助制定安全計劃並根據需要執行日常維護。顧問還將幫助您確定您公司的 SMTP 服務器是否可以配置更好的符合 SPF、DKIM 和 DMARC 標準的安全過濾器。

9.檢查是否有任何違規行為
您可以將您的個人和企業電子郵件放入 HaveIBeenPwned.com，以檢查您的帳戶和任何敏感信息（如身分證字號、您使用的密碼、出生日期和實際地址）是否已暴露給駭客。

10. 了解如何閱讀郵件標題和跟踪 IP 地址
​
信件標頭裡包含大多數電子郵件程序默認隱藏的標識符。標頭可讓您通過 IP 地址跟踪電子郵件的來源。 如果 IP 地址位於印度，但明明應該是法國廠商，那麼您就知道出了什麼問題。
​

總之這個世界已經變化得越來越複雜快速，壞人已經不需要拿武器才能夠搶人錢財，躲在鍵盤銀幕的後面就可以掌握你所有的生活和資訊，而伴隨的 AI 科技的進步，相信接下來的詐騙行徑也會越來越令人難以防備。

This post is in response to our District training exercise this morning on “who we are, and why we do what we do now”.

Over the years of personal growth development, I am more firmer believer of we are the decider of our own destiny.

I aspire to live a healthy abundant life with joy, where I can live in a community of healthy non toxic good vibes. People can live in harmony as that style. No war of any sorts as we are content with all of ourselves.

I practise yoga, to ground myself to the state of being. I may be a small voice, and I hope if you find my sharings of value, to pay it forward and impart with your people.

My internship program is officiated!

For lack of a better name, they are the AY Internship Program pilot batch. AY stands for Admirable Youth, for they my Master students, are indeed one.

In the midst of my chaotic May; staff leaving, hiring new one, trying to contract my recruits, and most important of all, to service my existing clients + onboarding my new clients, the opportunity to work on this community giveback project arise 🤩.

As my financial planner journey unveils over the years, I have grown to be a firm believer of teaching people to fish as oppose to feeding any hungry soul food.

is a pilot project to improve the of Youths who lack opportunities.
