Turnover increased to Tk 544.42 crore, from Tk 519.77 crore in the previous trading session, representing a 4.74% increase. The modest rise in turnover indicates a slight improvement in trading activity; however, the higher turnover alongside a sharp market decline suggests that selling activity remained elevated.
The DSEX index fell 22.70 points, closing at 5,515.16, compared with 5,537.88 in the previous session. The decline indicates that the market failed to sustain Wednesday’s stabilization and has resumed its downward trajectory, reinforcing the prevailing bearish trend.
The RSI declined to 28.38 from 30.08, moving below the 30 oversold threshold. This further deterioration confirms that bearish momentum has intensified and that selling pressure remains strong. The RSI is now firmly in oversold territory, indicating that the market is technically stretched on the downside. While this raises the possibility of a short-term technical rebound, it does not by itself signal that a sustained reversal has begun.
Market breadth was strongly negative, with only 103 issues advancing against 230 declining, while 54 remained unchanged. The clear dominance of declining stocks indicates that selling pressure was broad-based across the market.

Ten banks alone has accounted for Tk 4,39,531 crore, or nearly 72.5 per cent of the banking sector’s total default loans as of June 30, 2026, according to Bangladesh Bank data.
The concentration highlights that the country’s loan-default crisis is not evenly distributed across banks but is heavily centred in a small group of mostly state-owned and Islamic lenders.

The value of internet banking transactions in Bangladesh grew by 6.22 percent month-on-month to Tk 1.84 lakh crore in June 2026, driven mainly by sharp increases in two payment systems, according to a recent central bank report.
Among the individual channels, RTGS transactions rose 26.09 percent to Tk 50,461 crore in June, up from Tk 40,022 crore in May. NPSB transactions increased 2.70 percent to Tk 57,480 crore in June from Tk 55,967 crore in May, the report showed.

Turnover declined to Tk 519.77 crore, from Tk 590.43 crore in the previous trading session, representing an 11.97% decrease. The decline in turnover indicates weaker trading activity and reduced investor participation, suggesting that market participants remained cautious amid the ongoing correction.
The benchmark DSEX Index edged down by 1.44 points to close at 5,537.88 from 5,539.32, indicating a relatively stable session after the recent sharp declines. The limited movement suggests that selling pressure has slowed, although the market remains unable to establish a meaningful recovery.
The Relative Strength Index (RSI) declined slightly to 30.08 from 30.19, remaining just above the 30 oversold threshold. The marginal decline indicates that bearish momentum remains present but has largely stabilized compared with the previous session. With the RSI hovering near 30, the market is technically in a deeply oversold condition, suggesting that downside momentum is becoming stretched and the possibility of a short-term relief rebound is increasing. However, the RSI has not yet shown a meaningful recovery, so the broader trend remains weak.
Market breadth improved slightly and turned positive, with 165 issues advancing, 150 declining, and 72 remaining unchanged, indicating that buying interest emerged across a broader range of stocks despite the overall weak market sentiment.

Turnover increased to Tk 590.43 crore, from Tk 571.32 crore in the previous trading session, representing a 3.35% increase. The modest rise in turnover indicates slightly higher trading activity and investor participation, although the increase occurred alongside a broad market decline, suggesting that selling activity remained active.
The DSEX index declined 28.10 points, closing at 5,539.32, compared with 5,567.42 in the previous session. The decline erased the previous day’s modest recovery and indicates that the market remains under significant downward pressure. The inability to sustain Monday’s rebound suggests that the broader bearish trend is still firmly intact.
The RSI fell to 30.19 from 32.26, moving even closer to the 30 oversold threshold. This decline indicates that bearish momentum has strengthened again after Monday’s brief improvement. With the RSI now only marginally above 30, the market is at the edge of oversold territory, reflecting elevated selling pressure and increasingly stretched downside momentum. However, an oversold reading does not guarantee an immediate rebound, and further weakness remains possible.
Market breadth was strongly negative, with only 83 issues advancing against 252 declining, while 61 remained unchanged. The clear dominance of declining issues confirms that the weakness was broad-based and that selling pressure affected a large portion of the market.
