Andrew Harding, FCMA, CGMA, Chief Executive – Management Accounting, spoke with Ada Derana News in Colombo on how the accounting and finance profession is preparing for the next era recently during his visit to Sri Lanka recently. This wide-ranging conversation touched on RISE2040, the growing role of AI in shaping how finance and accounting professionals work, and the importance of trust as the profession takes on a more strategic role in business and society. Andrew also spoke about the next generation of finance talent in Sri Lanka, and the opportunities ahead as the country continues its economic recovery.

We are delighted to announce that Alfred Ramosedi, FCMA, CGMA, has been elected as the 93rd President of CIMA and the 11th Co‑Chair of the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants.

As he takes up the role, Alfred has set out a clear vision for the future of the profession, built on trust, innovation, and opportunity: “The choices we make today – how we earn trust, embrace technology, lead through uncertainty and complexity, and invest in the next generation – will shape the future of finance and accounting.
