The Jamuna Bridge, officially known as the Bangabandhu Jamuna Multipurpose Bridge, is one of the most important bridges in Bangladesh. It was opened in 1998 and crosses the mighty Jamuna River, connecting Tangail on the eastern side with Sirajganj on the western side. The bridge is approximately 4.8 kilometers long and provides road and railway connections between the eastern and western parts of the country. It has significantly improved transportation, trade, communication, and economic activities across Bangladesh by reducing travel time between Dhaka and the northern and western regions.
