ICAB Delegation Meets the President of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh at Bangabhaban

A five-member delegation of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB), led by ICAB President Sabbir Ahmed FCA, met with the President of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, at Bangabhaban on 5 October 2026.

The delegation included ICAB Vice Presidents Ala Uddin FCA, Asifur Rahman FCA and Mohammad Redwanur Rahman FCA, and CEO Md. Quamruzzaman.

The meeting focused on the evolving role of the Chartered Accountancy profession in strengthening Bangladesh’s economy, promoting transparency, accountability and sound financial governance.

The delegation highlighted the profession’s growing responsibility in supporting Bangladesh’s economic transformation and its ambition of becoming a trillion-dollar economy, while emphasizing the need for a strong, future-ready accounting profession.

The delegation also briefed the President on ICAB’s initiatives to enhance professional standards, regulatory capacity, skills development and national economic contribution.

The President appreciated the important role of Chartered Accountants and their contribution to national development.
