BACK FROM SEATTLE!

After more than six intensive weeks, the YLAI Fellowship program has come to an end. It was incredibly inspiring working with 14 peers, all from different industries and Countries. That makes it even better, with so many different views from so many different people, all on the same mission: learning and improving, growing, and making a difference.

At Francis & Company, I was given the fantastic opportunity to test my professional knowledge and improve it where necessary. Amongst others, highlighted points amongst others were the importance of processes running well both internally and externally and the importance of good communication channels with your customers. Slogan: Dream big, plan big. Do not plan your future with the resources you have today.

I would like to thank YLAI in general and Francis & Company for this unique experience. I can wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone who wants to get more out of themselves and is open to change in order to improve.
In the coming weeks, I will implement everything I have learned so that I can serve my customers even better. Seattle, Francis & Company, YLAI, and everyone; a sincere thanks!

SLEEPLESS IN SEATTLE…

About 4 weeks ago I arrived in Seattle for my YLAI fellowship at Francis & Company, a full-service accounting office, in business for over 40 years
The YLAI Fellowship Program is an annual exchange program for young business and social entrepreneurs from countries across Latin America, the Caribbean, and Canada, who are matched with businesses and organizations across the United States, and in my case in Seattle!
Working with them these past 4 weeks has shown me the best practices to scale and expand my own business and portfolio in Aruba.
What a great experience!
New insights by new people with fresh ideas; improving my professional knowledge and enriching my network.
This experience really exceeds all my expectations….
And we're not done yet; we still have 3 intensive weeks to learn as much as possible from each other.

My name is Josie and in 2010 I graduated from the University in Aruba, where I studied Business Administration and Management. After my graduation, I had the opportunity to work for leading companies.

Over the years I have built up wide range of experience and setting up my own company Direct Accounting Solutions & Advices was a logical next step. In me, you will find a passionate, fire-driven, practical solver. Highly motivated by complex administrative constructions, accuracy, and correctness, while obtaining the most value for the customer. In addition, I try to continuously develop myself and stay up to date in the accountancy field. I work hard to educate and improve myself.

My next learning experience will start in a few weeks; I'm taking part in an work partnership in Seattle with Francis & Company, to broaden the horizon, network and structure, with people in the the field. While also attending entrepreneurs conferences in Washington DC. Always striving for quality for our customers 👌👌
