I have been a volunteer association treasurer in the past and, as a professional, I support association treasurer's in their role. Volunteers are special individuals, dedicating their time for something they are passionate about, with no expectation of anything in return. While sitting in the auditorium at the NTCA Conference last week, listening to a speaker, a question came to mind: how many pastoralists who rely on bikes, buggies, and vehicles for mustering have actually made a plan for fuel shortages?

A large proportion of our industry has been steadily moving away from the use of horses—but what happens if we can no longer fuel their modern-day replacements? Trucks, too, depend heavily on fuel to move cattle across long distances to market. Without reliable access, how do we maintain that critical link to income?

It’s easy to dismiss current concerns as media hype—but what if it isn’t? What if fuel does become scarce?

Cattle will still need to be mustered for vaccinations, weaning, and drafting. Sale animals will still need to be drafted. The work doesn’t stop just because fuel supply becomes uncertain.

So the question is: have you put a plan in place to ensure your business can keep operating without disruption if fuel availability suddenly changes?

Once your software next performs a product confirmation, your file will become read-only—meaning you’ll still be able to view your data, but you won’t be able to make any changes.

To avoid delays or potential downtime when you need access most, it’s strongly recommended to migrate to a new system as soon as possible.
