As one of the youngest ever financial experts to achieve the status of Certified Financial Planner (CFP) through the Financial Planning Association of Australia back in 2015, I have a deep and passionate interest in helping everyday young Aussies get a better deal, financially. In 2015 I got together with my best mate Taj Singh to form First Home Buyers Australia (FHBA) - a specialist organisation
in helping first home buyers enter the property market. Housing affordability is a massive issue in Australia and the fact is it has never, ever, been harder to buy (& own) your first home. Taj & I tirelessly lobby Australia's federal & state governments for better housing affordability policies that put first home buyer owner occupiers first. For far too long our countries policies have favoured property investors over those buying a home to live in. Why should it be easier for an investor with 200 investment properties to buy his or her 201st investment property (& receive plenty of government help) than it is for a young Aussie to buy their first property to live in?? You will often see Taj & myself in the media calling for change. Simple put, it is time that first home buyers were put FIRST. In addition, Taj & I want to make it easier for young people to buy their first home the right way (away from all the hidden traps in the highly unregulated property industry). At FHBA we can assist Aussies buy their first home (any property type, any location, any time!). Everyday we work with our team to help our clients dreams come true. And we are always working on new and innovative ways to give first home buyers the very best help they can get anywhere in Australia. Having faced deep mental health issues myself, outside of my financial entrepreneur commitments I am a strong advocate for mental health awareness and seeking professional help. Mental health is sadly the leading cause of death among young Australians and while much has been done to address this, there is far more to go. In particular I am a supporter of the work of Beyond Blue - without them I wouldn't be here today.
