RBA announces another rate raise. Takes interest rates to the highest in 15 years.

What were the reasons?
- Unemployment needs to increase. Ask 55,000 more people to stop working.
- Iran war is causing higher petrol prices
- Use of AI to increase productivity. Yes Australian productivity has been edging low for the last few decades. And AI is being used to improve productivity which increases supply.
- Stubborn domestic demand. They didnt mention who was responsible. Was it inelastic government spending?
- Weak Aussie made imports costlier

From what I read, the cause for the rate rise lies not with the individual but somewhere else. Who could that be?🤔

Developing a strategy is the easiest step in an investment journey.

The challenge comes in
- understanding the strategy and breaking it into small steps
- implementation of steps
- and continuously adjusting the steps to the vagaries of life

There is more to investing. Best strategy is to plan ahead and avoid trying to pick the bottom.

And, as I have always mentioned, focus tax refund is not a good approach. Tax laws have a way negating initial benefits. So a long term strategic approach is always best

The 2026–27 Budget has changed the settings for property investors. Negative gearing on established residential is being limited, the 50% CGT discount is being replaced, and discretionary trusts face a minimum tax from 2028.

Commercial property is not affected by the negative gearing change.
