Think your private health insurance has you covered if something serious happens?
In a recent conversation with Nick from MetLife, we talked about one of the most common questions people ask:
"I've got private health insurance. Why do I need anything else?"
Private health insurance and trauma insurance serve very different purposes.
Private health insurance helps cover the cost of treatment, but it won't pay your mortgage, replace your income, or support your family while you recover.
Understanding how they work together can help create a stronger financial safety net when life takes an unexpected turn.
That's where trauma insurance comes in.
For young professionals and growing families, a serious illness can have a significant financial impact at a time when debts, expenses, and future goals are still building.

Can I carry forward unused super contributions?
$32,500 is the concessional cap most people know about for this financial year.
What they don't know is that cap isn't fixed to just this year.
If your total super balance was under $500,000 at 30 June, you can carry forward unused concessional cap space from the last five financial years on top of your current cap.
On top of your current cap. Didn't max it out in 2022โ23?
2023โ24?
2024โ25?
That space doesn't disappear. It's yours to use.
This is exactly the kind of tax-saving lever many people don't realise they can pull.
Worth checking before you assume this year's cap is all you've got.

Off-the-plan developments may appear sweet with tax incentives, but are they really worth the valuation risks?
Property investing is more than just what's new, it's about making conscious choices that support wealth without regrets and align with your goals.
From her experience, Sheri Mendel Moove Buyers Agent has shown that what looks attractive upfront doesn't always deliver the best long-term outcome.
While tax incentives can be appealing, they may not outweigh the risks of inflated purchase prices, valuation shortfalls, and uncertain future performance.
Thinking about your next property move? We helps Australians under 50 make conscious financial choices that align with the life they want to live.

Would a home buyer want to live in your investment property in 10 years' time?
It's a simple question, but it's one of the biggest indicators of whether a property will actually deliver a strong exit down the track.
Thinking about your exit strategy from day one is not just part of the purchase, but part of building wealth without regrets.
This is where having a financial adviser in your corner makes the difference, helping you weigh up how a property fits your broader wealth plan, not just whether it looks good on paper today.

Would you walk away from your dream suburb if the numbers told you to?
It's easy to fall in love with an area. But smart investing means letting the numbers do the talking, not your emotions and the best opportunities often leave clues in the data.
Vacancy rates, building approvals, and buyer demand can tell you a lot about a suburb's future potential.
Not sure if your next property moves stacks up? Let's have a chat.

Thinking about using your home equity to buy an investment property?
Before you do, ask yourself these 4 questions:
1๏ธโฃ What's the actual goal: Growth, cashflow, or setting up your next home purchase?
2๏ธโฃ Are you counting the real cost of that equity? (You're still paying interest on it even if no cash left your account)
3๏ธโฃ How much can you comfortably afford out of pocket, without changing your lifestyle?
4๏ธโฃ Have you stress-tested the numbers against a rate rise or policy change?
Equity can be a powerful tool but only if the plan behind it is solid.

Are you borrowing what the bank says you can, or what you can actually afford?
A tip from Shayne Mele, Moove Buyers Agent, highlights that the smartest property buyers don't start with the bank's number but start with their goals, then work backwards to a repayment they can live with, stress-free.
Want a clear plan for how much you can comfortably borrow? Book a chat with our team and let's map it out together.
