Russell Crowe is an Aries.
Lady Gaga is an Aries.
Jack Ma is an Aries.
Elton John is an Aries.
Reese Witherspoon is an Aries.
They all found something they were great at.
I found mine too.
Not on a stage.
Not on a movie set.
Not running a global tech company.
I help business owners build wealth through better financial decisions.
Turns out success probably has a lot less to do with your star sign and a lot more to do with finding the work you're meant to do.
What's yours?

You don't hire because there's money in the bank.
You hire because your business can carry the cost before that new team member starts bringing in revenue.
That's the mistake we see all the time.
A business is growing. The workload is there. The owner is exhausted. They know they need help.
But when we ask, "Can you afford to hire?" the answer is usually based on a quick glance at the bank balance.
That's not a hiring strategy.
Before you bring someone on, ask yourself:
• How long until they're fully productive?
• What revenue is already committed?
• Could you still pay them through a slower month?
• Do you have a cash buffer, or are you hoping next month's sales cover this month's decision?
The businesses that hire with confidence don't rely on hope.
They rely on clear numbers.
That's why we help our clients plan for growth before they need it. When the right person comes along, the cash is already waiting.
Save this before your next hire.

"Finance and calm? Those two words don’t go together.”
Someone said this to me after I spoke about Financial Calm at the AI retreat last week.
And I get it.
For a lot of business owners, money feels like the opposite of calm.
A bill arrives.
You check the bank account.
Tax is due.
You scramble to find the money.
You’re not sure what you can pay yourself this month.
And taking profit out of the business?
That can feel like something you’ll get to “one day.”
But this is exactly why I talk about Financial Calm.
Financial Calm doesn’t mean having endless amounts of money in the bank.
It means being in control of the money you do have.
You know what’s coming.
Money is already put aside for tax and upcoming expenses.
You know what you can pay yourself.
You can take actual profit out of the business, rather than profit being a number you only ever see on your P&L.
And when the tax bill arrives, it doesn’t create panic.
It’s simply another bill you planned for.
That’s Financial Calm.
Not ignoring your numbers.
Not hoping everything works out.
Knowing your numbers, having a system and feeling in control of your cash.
That’s what I want more business owners to experience.
If you’re reading this thinking, “I want my business to feel like that,” book a call with me through the Blu Bookkeepers website and let’s have a conversation.

A bill comes in.
You check the bank account.
There’s enough money.
So you pay it.
But what about the bills due next week?
Payroll?
Tax?
Your own pay?
Can you afford that new hire you’ve been thinking about?
This is what I mean when I talk about running a business reactively.
You’re constantly dealing with what’s in front of you rather than making decisions based on what’s coming.
Last week, I had some time away from the day-to-day of the business at an AI retreat.
And one of the things I came away thinking about most wasn’t AI.
It was this:
How do we help more business owners become Money First CEOs?
For me, being a Money First CEO means you know your numbers.
You understand what’s coming in and what needs to go out.
You know what you can pay yourself.
You can look ahead and make decisions about hiring, spending and growth based on data rather than gut feel.
You have a system for managing your cash.
And because you have that clarity, money starts to feel less overwhelming.
That’s what I call Financial Calm.
It doesn’t mean there will never be difficult financial decisions to make.
It means you have the numbers, plan and system to make them.
That’s what I want more business owners to experience.
Are you managing the money in your business proactively, or dealing with it as it happens?

Recently I came across a word that stayed with me.
Spaciousness.
Not empty space.
The room you give yourself to think.
To notice.
To listen.
To pause.
To respond instead of react.
We spend so much of life trying to fit more in.
Maybe what we really need is to leave more room.
More spaciousness.
