【Queensland Manufacturers: Access Up to A$250,000 in AI Implementation Support】

The Queensland Government has launched the Manufacturing AI Uplift Trial, offering eligible manufacturers up to A$250,000 worth of AI implementation services to improve productivity, reduce operating costs and accelerate digital transformation.

📅 Applications close: 30 October 2026.

💡 What does the program offer?

Delivered through ARM Hub, the program supports manufacturers in assessing, developing and implementing practical AI solutions.

Importantly, this is not a cash grant.

For successful projects, the Queensland Government covers 80% of the total project value, while participating businesses contribute the remaining 20% in cash.

For example:
• Government contribution: A$250,000
• Business contribution: A$62,500
• Total project value: A$312,500

✅ Who is eligible?
Key eligibility requirements include:
• Primarily operating in the manufacturing sector (ANZSIC Division C)
• Operating in Queensland for at least two years
• Employing 5–500 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees
• Having at least 50% of employees based in Queensland
• Holding a valid ABN and GST registration
• Maintaining a physical manufacturing operation in Queensland
• Demonstrating financial capacity and a practical AI implementation opportunity

⚙️ How could AI benefit your manufacturing business?
Potential applications include:
🔹 Quality control: Detect product defects and reduce rework.
🔹 Predictive maintenance: Identify equipment issues before costly breakdowns.
🔹 Production planning: Improve scheduling, capacity utilisation and delivery performance.
🔹 Inventory management: Optimise stock levels and demand forecasting.
🔹 Process automation: Streamline quoting, reporting and administrative workflows.

📋 How does the application process work?
The program involves three stages:
1. Expression of Interest (EOI) – Submit business details and a proposed AI use case.
2. AI Roadmap – Shortlisted businesses receive an assessment and implementation roadmap.
3. Flagship Project – Selected businesses contribute 20% of the project value and proceed with AI implementation.

Progressing to the roadmap stage does not guarantee selection for the final implementation project.

📊 Our Business Advisory Perspective
AI adoption should be driven by measurable business outcomes, not technology trends alone.

Before investing, manufacturers should consider:
• How much could AI reduce labour and production costs?
• Could it minimise downtime, waste and inventory holding costs?
• Can the business fund its 20% contribution?
• What is the expected return on investment and payback period?

Government support can reduce the cost of innovation, but long-term value depends on sound financial planning and measurable productivity improvements.

Eligible Queensland manufacturers should assess their suitability before the application deadline.

【Australian W**eries: Up to A$100,000 in Government Grants Available!】

The Australian Government’s W**e Tourism and Cellar Door Grant – Round 8 is now open, offering eligible Australian w**e and c***r producers up to A$100,000 in funding.

📅 Applications close: 23 October 2026, 4:30 pm Brisbane time.

💰 What is this grant?

With a total funding pool of A$10 million, the program supports Australian w**e and c***r producers and promotes cellar door sales and w**e tourism.

Unlike traditional project grants, funding is calculated based on eligible sales achieved during FY2025–26, rather than future development or renovation expenses.

✅ Who is eligible?

Applicants must meet key requirements, including:

• Be an Australian w**e or c***r producer
• Hold a valid ABN and be registered for GST
• Have at least A$1.207 million in FY2026 sales qualifying for the W**e Equalisation Tax (WET) rebate
• Own or lease an eligible physical cellar door
• Hold a valid liquor licence
• Meet the relevant WET payment and additional eligible cellar door sales requirements

📊 How much can you receive?

The grant is calculated at 29% of the eligible Notional Wholesale Selling Price of qualifying additional cellar door sales.

For example:

• A$100,000 in eligible sales → A$29,000 potential grant
• A$200,000 → A$58,000
• A$300,000 → A$87,000

Maximum grant: A$100,000 per applicant.

Actual payments may be reduced proportionally if total eligible claims exceed the available funding pool.

Importantly, the Notional Wholesale Selling Price is not necessarily the same as the retail selling price.

📋 What documents are required?

Applicants should prepare a statutory declaration, evidence of cellar door ownership or lease, and a valid FY2026 liquor licence.

Supporting WET records, sales reconciliations and calculation workpapers are also recommended.

💡 Our Business Advisory Perspective

This grant is particularly valuable because it rewards eligible sales already achieved, rather than requiring businesses to undertake new capital expenditure.

Accurate WET reporting, cellar door sales records and wholesale price calculations are essential when assessing eligibility and potential funding.

With the deadline approaching, eligible businesses should review their position promptly.

【Up to A$1 Million in Government Funding for Australian Clean Energy Startups!】

Australia’s renewable energy sector has a new funding opportunity.

The Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) has launched its A$30 million Launchpad Program, designed to help early-stage clean energy businesses accelerate technology development and commercialisation.

📅 Startup Funding applications close: 28 October 2026, 4:00 pm AEDT (3:00 pm Brisbane time).

💰 How much funding is available?

1. Startup Funding — A$15 million funding pool

Eligible startups can apply for A$500,000 in base funding, with an additional top-up of up to A$500,000 for qualifying deep-tech or capital-intensive projects.

Total potential funding: A$1 million per startup.

No mandatory matched funding is required.

2. Ecosystem Funding — A$15 million funding pool

Up to A$5 million per project for eligible incubators, accelerators and organisations supporting clean energy innovation.

⚡ Which technologies are supported?

ARENA’s five strategic priorities include:

🔹 Ultra-low-cost solar

🔹 Renewable electricity, energy storage and grid technologies

🔹 Renewable hydrogen for industrial decarbonisation

🔹 Low-emissions metals and industrial processes

🔹 Transport decarbonisation

Eligible technologies must have reached at least Technology Readiness Level 3 (TRL 3) and demonstrate a credible pathway to commercialisation.

📋 What will ARENA assess?

Applications are evaluated across four areas:

• Market opportunity and technology — 30%

• Team capability — 30%

• Project activities and business plan — 20%

• Financial position and funding strategy — 20%

💡 Our Business Advisory Perspective

Securing government funding requires more than innovative technology.

A strong application also needs a realistic project budget, sufficient financial runway, clear commercial milestones and a sustainable funding strategy beyond the grant period.

Businesses should also consider the income tax and GST implications of grant funding, particularly where activities may qualify for the R&D Tax Incentive.

Government grants can accelerate innovation, but they are not a substitute for a commercially viable business model.

【Firmus Withdraws Australian IPO Just One Day After A$11 Billion Valuation Cut】

Yesterday, the valuation was reduced. Today, the IPO has been withdrawn.

Australian AI data centre developer Firmus Technologies, backed by Nvidia and Blackstone, has announced the withdrawal of its proposed ASX listing.

The IPO was expected to be one of Australia's largest, potentially second only to Telstra's 1997 listing.

According to Reuters, the proposed offering had already undergone significant adjustments:

📉 Share price: A$11 → A$8.25 (down 25%)
📉 Valuation: A$44 billion → A$33 billion
📉 Capital raising: A$7.9 billion → A$5.9 billion

Despite these adjustments, Firmus has decided not to proceed with the IPO under current market conditions and will explore alternative financing options.

A company's growth potential and its current investment value are two different things.
Even with strong institutional backing and ambitious expansion plans, a business must still demonstrate that its valuation and funding requirements are acceptable to investors.
This is particularly relevant to capital-intensive industries such as AI infrastructure, property development and manufacturing.

Four important lessons stand out:
1. Valuation is not funding certainty. A high valuation does not guarantee successful capital raising.
2. Cash flow matters. Future growth must eventually translate into sustainable operating cash flow.
3. Funding flexibility is essential. Businesses should maintain alternative financing strategies.
4. Risk assessment is critical. What happens if construction is delayed, costs rise or revenue falls short?

Importantly, withdrawing an IPO does not necessarily mean business failure or a loss of confidence in the AI industry's long-term prospects.

Firmus may continue to grow through alternative funding arrangements. However, this development reinforces a fundamental financial principle: A promising business opportunity does not automatically justify any valuation.

Whether investing in AI, property or a growing business, sound financial decisions require a careful assessment of valuation, cash flow, funding requirements and risk.

【Australia's AI IPO: A$11 Billion Valuation Adjustment Before Listing】

One of Australia's largest-ever IPOs is making headlines — even before its ASX debut.
Australian AI data centre developer Firmus Technologies, backed by Nvidia and Blackstone, has revised its proposed IPO valuation.

According to Reuters (8 October 2026):
📉 Share price: A$11 → A$8.25 (down 25%)
📉 Valuation: A$44 billion → A$33 billion
📉 Capital raising: A$7.9 billion → A$5.9 billion

The proposed IPO could still rank among Australia's largest, potentially second only to Telstra's 1997 listing.

📌 Why Does This Matter?
Firmus currently operates approximately 42 MW of data centre capacity, with plans to expand towards 1,000 MW.

The growth potential is significant, but so are the capital requirements and ex*****on risks.

Growth potential and investment value are two different things.

For investors, the key considerations remain:

✔ Cash Flow: When will projected growth translate into sustainable cash flow?
✔ Capital Requirements: How much additional funding will be needed?
✔ Valuation: Is today's price supported by actual performance or future expectations?
✔ Risk Management: What happens if projects are delayed or costs increase?

AI continues to create exciting opportunities, but sound investment decisions still depend on financial fundamentals.

The key question: Are we paying a reasonable price today for tomorrow's potential returns and associated risks?

【 Regional Arts & Festival Projects — Festivals Australia Round 23 Now Open 🎭 】

If you’re planning an arts festival, cultural celebration or community event in regional or remote Australia, the latest round of Festivals Australia may be worth exploring.

The Australian Government’s Festivals Australia Round 23 supports arts and cultural projects presented as part of festivals or significant one-off community celebrations in eligible regional and remote areas.

📅 Applications close: 13 October 2026
📅 Successful projects can commence from 1 February 2027

What can be funded?

The program is not designed to fund the general operation of an entire festival. Instead, funding is focused on a specific arts or cultural project within the festival or celebration.

Examples may include:
🎭 Theatre, dance and live performance
🎵 Music and cultural activities
🎨 Public art, installations and exhibitions
🧑‍🎨 Community arts workshops
🎉 Parades and collaborative community arts projects

A key focus of the program is community participation. This means projects should go beyond simply presenting something for an audience to watch. Strong projects may involve local residents, artists, schools and community groups in workshops, performances, creative development or collaborative art-making.

Who can apply?

Eligible regional artists, arts workers and organisations may apply. However, the project must take place in an area that meets the Australian Government’s definition of regional or remote Australia.

Applicants should therefore check the official eligibility map before preparing an application rather than assuming that any location outside a capital city will qualify.

How much funding is available?

An interesting feature of Festivals Australia is that there is no standard maximum grant amount for an individual project.

However, the overall funding pool is limited and applications are competitive. The amount requested should therefore be realistic and proportionate to the size and impact of the project.

Assessment considers factors such as artistic merit, genuine community participation, project delivery and the value the proposed project can bring to regional communities.

Applicants should be ready with a clear project plan, timeline and detailed budget, together with supporting material such as artist information, partner confirmations, quotations and evidence of previous work.

If you already have an established regional festival or cultural event and are looking to introduce a meaningful participatory arts project, this funding round is worth reviewing.

【 Queensland Arts Touring Projects — Funding of up to $100,000 🎭 】

Are you an artist, arts group or cultural organisation in Queensland with a tour-ready project?

The Queensland Government’s Touring Queensland Fund – Round 3 is currently open, providing funding to help arts and cultural projects tour across Queensland and connect with audiences in more communities.

Eligible projects can apply for up to $100,000, with Queensland Government funding covering up to 50% of the total project costs. For example, a project seeking the full $100,000 would generally need a total project budget of at least $200,000.

Eligible applicants may also apply for up to $10,000 in additional funding for accessibility costs to support artists or audiences with disability.

Who can apply?

Eligible Queensland-based individuals, groups and organisations may apply.

Importantly, the funding is designed for projects that are already tour-ready — rather than projects still in the early development stage.
The proposed tour must generally include at least three locations, excluding the applicant’s home location.

This means Brisbane-based artists may tour to regional Queensland, while regional artists and organisations may tour to Brisbane and other Queensland communities.

What costs may be supported?

Eligible costs may include:
🎭 Artist and touring personnel costs
✈ Travel and accommodation
🚚 Freight and transport
🎤 Technical support and equipment hire
📋 Tour management
🤝 Community engagement activities

Costs relating to early-stage project development, pre-tour rehearsals, equipment purchases, general marketing, venue hire and ordinary business expenses are generally not eligible.

The Touring Queensland Fund is competitive. Applications are assessed on factors including artistic quality, community impact, delivery capability and financial sustainability.

Applicants will generally also need evidence of commitment from at least 75% of participating venues or presenters, such as confirmation emails, booking documentation or contracts.

If you already have a developed project and confirmed interest from multiple touring locations, this funding round may be worth exploring.

📅 Applications close: 2:00 pm, 12 October 2026
📅 Projects can commence from: 1 February 2027

【Queensland International Education Providers: Up to $20,000 for Market Development】

Queensland international education providers looking to expand into new overseas markets may be eligible for funding under the Study Queensland Adapt to Thrive Grant 2026–27.

Delivered through Trade and Investment Queensland (TIQ), the program is designed to help Queensland’s international education sector diversify its markets, develop new partnerships and create new education export opportunities.

Eligible providers can apply for up to $20,000 (ex GST).

The grant may support activities such as:

🔹 Developing new international student markets
🔹 Building partnerships with overseas education providers
🔹 Developing Transnational Education (TNE) opportunities
🔹 Establishing new study tour programs
🔹 Adapting or localising courses for overseas markets
🔹 Supporting market entry, curriculum mapping and relevant regulatory work

Eligible applicants may include private RTOs/VET providers, ELICOS providers, schools and higher education providers. Importantly, applicants must meet specific eligibility requirements, including holding relevant CRICOS registration and having existing education export activity.

The funding also requires a cash contribution. For example, an organisation seeking the maximum $20,000 grant would need to contribute at least $10,000, resulting in a minimum $30,000 project.

Financial capacity is therefore an important part of the application. Supporting documents may include financial statements, balance sheets, bank statements and a detailed project budget.

📅 Applications close: 9 October 2026 at 1:00 pm AEST

For Queensland education providers already considering new international markets or offshore partnerships, this may be an opportunity to bring forward planned expansion and market-development activities.

Before applying, check both the organisation’s eligibility and whether the proposed expenditure falls within the program guidelines.

【 Queensland community organisations: grants of up to $100,000 are now open 】

Does your organisation help people from culturally diverse backgrounds build connections, access services or participate more fully in community life?

The 2026–27 Strengthening Communities Multicultural Grants could help bring your next project to life.

Funding is available under two categories:

🌿 Empowering Multicultural Community Projects — removing barriers and creating opportunities for social and economic participation.

🤝 Youth and Community Connection Projects — helping young people feel heard, supported and connected to their communities.

Who can apply?

Eligible applicants include incorporated associations, companies limited by guarantee, state school P&C associations, councils, Queensland universities and qualifying social enterprises.

Unincorporated associations may apply through an eligible auspicing organisation. Individuals, sole traders and ordinary commercial businesses are not eligible. Other eligibility requirements also apply.

What could a project look like?

Previously funded projects have included women’s skills development, language learning, water safety and youth participation through sport.

Projects should respond to a clear community need and demonstrate meaningful outcomes. Initiatives primarily focused on festivals, fundraising, commercial activities or conferences are not suitable for this program.

💡 Jessie’s tip: Start with the people you want to support. Explain the barriers they face, involve them in planning, and show how your activities and budget will deliver measurable benefits.

This is a competitive grant, so meeting the eligibility criteria does not guarantee funding.

📅 Applications close: 4 October 2026 at 11:59pm
🗓 Projects are scheduled to commence from 1 July 2027.
💻 Apply online through SmartyGrants after reviewing the relevant funding guidelines.

【 Happy Mid-Autumn Festival! 】

The Mid-Autumn Festival is a time to celebrate family, give thanks and remember those we hold dear.

Rooted in the Chinese harvest tradition, its round moon symbolises reunion and togetherness. Families share mooncakes, gather around the table and send wishes to loved ones far away.

Here in Australia, it arrives in spring — a little reminder that traditions travel with us, wherever we make our home.

Tonight, take a moment to step outside and look up at the moon. Perhaps someone you miss will be looking up too.

Across oceans, across generations, there is something comforting in sharing the same moon.

From all of us at Eway Growth Partners, may your heart find peace, wherever you call home.

Happy Mid-Autumn Festival. ✨
