Attention small business owners!
Have you paid your employee super guarantee (SG) contributions for the quarter ending 31 December yet? Remember, these were due by 28 January.
If you missed the deadline, don't worry - you'll just need to pay the SG charge (SGC) and lodge an SGC statement by 28 February to disclose any missed or late contributions. You can even set up a payment arrangement with us if you need to. But be aware, if you don’t lodge your SGC statement on time, you may face an additional penalty of up to 200% of the SGC.
Also, note that there have been some changes to SG as of 1 July 2022, such as an increase in the rate from 10% to 10.5% and the removal of the $450 per month eligibility threshold for super. If you haven't applied these changes to your calculations, you'll need to lodge an SGC statement and pay the charge.
If you're feeling overwhelmed by all of this, don't worry - Stellar bookkeeping is here to help. Contact us today for assistance with your super obligations
