Well, Redgum Accounting, for my 10th tax season - we will be moving to the BEACHHHH 🙌🎉☀️

Short Version - thank you, and I’d love you to come to my new office in Rockingham!

Long Version -

While I was manually collating a list of 1000 email addresses for clients (insert eye roll, software issues), I started thinking of the people along the way…

There were friends who became clients, clients that became friends, clients that became colleagues, clients that became service providers, and even clients who have been “just” clients…none of that is lost on me. Even some clients right from the start, some only just recently, and others for a period somewhere in the middle…people who didn’t use my services but promoted me to friends, or just generally people who supported me or wished me well.

We’ve shared some moments, for sure. I’ve had great times and brought them to work, and you’ve shared your victories with me; I’ve had some bad times and brought them to work, and you’ve shared tragedies, losses and heartbreaks with me. It’s not just been numbers to me.

So many beautiful connections. Not everything has gone to plan, but it’s all been a BIG tapestry of relationships and lessons.

For any of you that didn’t get the email (maybe you’ve changed email addresses?) - I have joined forces with Sound Tax in Rockingham for the new Financial Year. This will help me to keep doing your Accounting, while giving me some team backup to help me with all the periphery stuff, and also colleagues to run issues past…and possibly some time off!!

To EVERYONE who has been a part of this so far, I would LOOOVE you to come with me to Rockingham! I’m not sure they are quite ready for the level of “Sandy” they are in for, but at least if I bring YOU it will be business as usual for me!

Mostly I’ll keep things as same as I can, although I WILL have to tweak a few things to fit in with the team. Bear with me.

Phone appts if you don’t want to drive to see me, or email will always work…but I’d love to have a giggle and see some friendly faces, if you want to come see me.

It’s going to be a great new adventure - I hope you come along 🤓🦋☀️

WELL, that was an interesting Budget Night!!!

For any clients operating a small business through a Trust, you are on notice that you are in the cross hairs.

It appears that CGT Changes will affect property sales, but also shares, crypto, gold, etc - so anyone with investments, stay tuned.

Negative Gearing for properties that are not already investment properties will be limited to new builds.

Potentially your retirement planning will need some tweaking, because things are changing.

None of it is legislated yet, so there may be changes to the proposed measures...but given that the government will have to get the support of other parties (Greens are probably holding all the power at this point) and some think it hasn't gone far enough, I wouldn't be holding my breath for too much of it to be softened.
