Supporting locals - Empowering People, Enabling Growth, Enriching Communities!

🎉 Celebrating 40 years of supporting future accounting professionals!

CQUniversity student Mitchell Cole has been awarded the 2025 Evans Edwards Accountants I Auditors I Business Advisors Prize, recognising outstanding achievement across advanced accounting and law studies.

The milestone award also marks four decades of support from Central Queensland accounting firm Evans Edwards, with Director and Principal Marni McGrath reflecting on a true full-circle moment after receiving the same prize as a student in 1989.

We have recently become aware of an increase in scams involving messages claiming to be from the ATO or myGov.

These scams can be very convincing and may include text messages, emails or links asking you to log in, verify your details or take action regarding your tax affairs.

Please remember:
🔹 Be cautious of unexpected messages claiming to be from the
ATO or myGov.
🔹 Do not click on links in suspicious text messages or emails.
🔹 Never provide passwords, myGov login details or other
personal information in response to an unsolicited message.
🔹 If you are unsure whether a message is genuine, stop and
verify it independently before taking any action.
🔹 If something doesn't look right with your tax account, please
contact us as soon as possible.

Unfortunately, scammers are becoming increasingly sophisticated, so please take that extra moment to STOP, CHECK and VERIFY before responding.

Please also remind family members and friends, particularly anyone who may be less familiar with online scams.

Stay vigilant and stay safe. 🔐
