As an additional safeguard measure against cybercrime and fraudulent tax return lodgements, and to help protect taxpayers, the ATO may now send a genuine text message whenever a tax return is lodged. Our clients will be able to identify if the tax return has been lodged fraudulently as we send out tax returns for approval and digital signing via our secure and encrypted portal. If a client receives one of these ATO messages but have not received a portal notification from us asking them to review, approve and digitally sign their tax return, it is likely that the tax return has been lodged fraudulently. If clients receive this ATO message soon after approving their tax return, then it is genuine and CountOn Solutions have lodged the tax return.

Cryptocurrency Email Scam!
We have been notified by the ATO of a current email scam regarding cryptocurrency. Emails appear to come from the ATO or myGov and are asking people to make an immediate declaration by calling a linked number to avoid further action.

What to do if you receive this message:
~Do not respond.
~Do not call the number.
~Do not provide any information.
~Do not open attachments.
~Report the email by forwarding it to [email protected]
