Big news for property investors from Budget night: negative gearing is changing.

From 1 July 2027, if you buy an established property, you won't be able to offset rental losses against your salary the way you can now, those losses get carried forward instead. Already own an investment property? You're grandfathered in, no changes there. Buying new? Negative gearing still applies in full.

Under the new Payday Super rules, late super payments trigger a penalty, but the size of that penalty depends almost entirely on what you do in the days immediately after. Over the past few years, Grace has become an irreplaceable part of the Ascent team, bringing positivity, dedication, and plenty of creativity to everything she does.

Outside the office, we can barely keep up with her ever-growing list of hobbies. From LEGO creations and crocheting to her newest creative pursuit of building DIY miniature houses, Grace is truly a woman of many talents (and apparently never runs out of projects!).

One year ago, Harry joined the Ascent team, and what a fantastic addition he’s been. Over the past 12 months, he has consistently impressed us with his intelligence, logical approach, strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to lend a hand whenever needed.
