Last Friday, our Social Club in Perth put our team’s trivia skills to the test, bringing together Graduates, Partners, and everyone in between for a fun-filled quiz night.

There were plenty of laughs along the way, a few lively debates over questionable answers, and no shortage of competitive spirit. It was a great opportunity to connect, socialise, and put our general knowledge to the test. Thanks to everyone that took part!

Last week, our accountants from the Perth office enjoyed an evening of networking and friendly competition at the Downtime & Darts event hosted by Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand YCA group. It was fantastic to spend time with industry peers and be part of such a fun event.

Congratulations to two of our graduates, Jack and Lucas, who made it all the way to a final showdown and took home the top 2 prizes! 🎯🏆Great people, great conversations and a well-deserved win. We're already looking forward to the next event!

Yesterday we had the opportunity to connect with students and future professionals at Curtin University's Tax & Accounting Expo. It was a great to meet aspiring accountants and future professionals, discuss career pathways, and share insights into life at PKF Perth.

PKF Perth is proud to support Claremont Football Club's NAIDOC Match Day.

We recently welcomed Lucinda Fransen, Shane Yardley, Daijon Puertollano and Mia Jackson to our office to speak with the team about the important work the Club does in the Kimberley region. They also brought along the Club's 2026 NAIDOC guernsey. Pictured with the Claremont Football Club team are Carl Longshaw, Partner, and Danielle Jeffrey, Operations Manager and Reconciliation Officer.

The guernsey was designed by Colts players Robert Farmer and Elijah Williams, who are both from the Great Southern region. The artwork tells the story of their journey from the Great Southern to Claremont and the sense of connection they have found through the football club and community.

We're looking forward to seeing the guernsey in action this weekend. Go Tigers 🐯

We hosted a morning tea this morning to celebrate Sarah Illarietti's tenth anniversary at PKF Perth 🎉

Over the last ten years, Sarah’s contribution to the firm has been significant. She has played a key role in ensuring we have the right technology and systems in place to support our Wealth Management division. This was recognised internally when we launched our inaugural Living the Values Awards, where Sarah was a well-deserved recipient of the Passion Award, acknowledging those who strive to drive positive change across the firm.

Sarah’s achievements have also been recognised externally by Accountants Daily and Count in recent years, which speaks to the quality and consistency of her work. We’re proud to have Sarah on our team and look forward to her continued success and contributions in the years ahead.

Reconciliation Week began yesterday. We acknowledged it by sharing materials on what Reconciliation Week means encouraging our team to take time to learn and reflect on this year’s theme, ‘All In’, and how we can each contribute to reconciliation.

We also highlighted the significance of the Mabo decision and its lasting impact on Australia. Resources are available in our Staff Hub, including information explaining the decision, as well as colouring-in materials provided by Reconciliation Australia for those wanting to engage in a creative way.

Together, we continue to build our understanding and support reconciliation within our community.

Not just an accountant.

Darren Shillington shares how his role plays a key part in shaping the firm’s future in Perth. He helps ensure that the firm continues to grow, adapt, develop our people, support our clients, and engage with our local community.

While Darren brings extensive technical expertise, he acknowledges that the role of accountants has changed significantly over time. Today, clients rely on their accountants to help them interpret the numbers, new regulations and understand how to respond to and implement change.

He also shares how his hobbies help him maintain balance between work and personal life, and how golf, in particular, has helped build his resilience both on and off the course. By his own admission, he often spends more time in the woods (“at one with nature”) searching for his golf ball than on the fairway!
