Last week I attended 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗗𝗶𝗴𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗖𝗣𝗗 𝗶𝗻 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 at the Hilton Surfers Paradise, where around 100 accountants came together to unpack the Federal Budget and what it could mean for clients and businesses.

𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗸𝗲𝘆 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆: an announcement isn't law it's intent. Before any measure takes effect, it typically goes through consultation, draft legislation and Parliament. Plenty of proposed changes never make it across the line.

Understand what's been announced. Run the numbers. But don't make major restructuring decisions off the back of a press release.

And if there was ever a time when one size doesn't fit all, it's now. Every business will need careful consideration of its own circumstances before making any changes in response to the Budget. What's sensible for one structure can be the wrong move for another.
