Spring is the perfect time for business owners to refresh their finances, get organised and make sure everything is in order as we head towards the end of 2026.
With the September quarter at a close, now is the time to reconcile your accounts, review your cash flow, chase outstanding invoices, check your GST and PAYG records, and prepare for your next Business Activity Statement (BAS).
đ
A few important reminders for your business:
28 October: The September quarterly BAS is generally due for lodgment and payment, subject to applicable extensions.
28 October: Quarterly super guarantee contributions are also due to be paid for eligible employees.
Victorian businesses: Take the time to review your payroll records, contractor payments and any applicable payroll tax obligations as state tax compliance remains an area of focus.
Planning ahead: Review your budgets, upcoming expenses and cash flow before the Christmas trading period gets into full swing.
Whether youâre a sole trader, a growing small business or an established company, keeping your books up to date means fewer surprises, better financial visibility and more confidence when making your next business decision.
