π‘ Payday Super is Coming β Are You Ready?
From 1 July 2026, the way super is paid is set to change.
Employers will be required to pay super at the same time as wages - not quarterly.
π What this means for your business:
β’ More frequent cash flow impact
β’ Increased payroll compliance obligations
β’ Less room for error on super payments
β’ Potential system and process changes required
While this is a positive move for employees, it will require proactive planning for businesses to avoid disruptions.
Now is the time to:
β Review your payroll systems
β Assess cash flow and funding cycles
β Ensure your processes can handle more frequent payments
β Review payroll frequency β e.g. moving from weekly to fortnightly
can improve cash flow and reduce admin
Weβre already working with clients to prepare for these changes and ensure a smooth transition.

π Business Owners β Big Tax & Structure Changes Are Coming
The 2026β27 Federal Budget has proposed a mix of opportunities and challenges for Australian businesses.
β
$20K instant asset write-off made permanent
β
Loss carry-back tax refunds returning
β
Reduced compliance burden for SMEs
But there are also significant proposed changes ahead:
β οΈ 30% minimum tax on discretionary trusts from 1 July 2028
β οΈ Changes to the 50% CGT discount from 1 July 2027
Importantly, the Government has proposed temporary rollover relief to help businesses restructure out of discretionary trusts without immediate tax consequences.
The next 12β24 months may be critical for reviewing business structures, succession plans and tax strategies.

π‘ The 2026β27 Federal Budget has proposed major changes for property investors.
Hereβs what you need to know:
ποΈ Negative gearing restricted to new builds from 1 July 2027
Established properties purchased after Budget night may no longer allow losses to be offset against wages or other personal income.
π 50% CGT discount changing from 1 July 2027
The current 50% discount is proposed to be replaced with inflation-based indexation and a minimum 30% tax on net capital gains.
β
New builds remain favoured
Eligible new builds are expected to retain full negative gearing benefits and more favourable CGT treatment.
π¦ SMSFs remain largely unaffected
Super funds are expected to remain exempt from the proposed negative gearing changes, with CGT concessions in super unchanged.
The investment landscape hasnβt disappeared - itβs shifted.
New builds, commercial property and superannuation structures may become increasingly attractive under the proposed rules.
The weeks leading into 30 June 2026 may present important planning opportunities.
π© Reach out if youβd like to discuss how these proposed changes could impact your situation.
