🚨 BUSINESS OWNERS: CREDIT CARD SURCHARGE BAN DELAYED!

There’s been a reported reprieve for Australian businesses, with Treasurer Jim Chalmers reportedly delaying the planned credit card surcharge ban for the ATO until July 2027, pushing back the original timeline.

While this may provide some welcome breathing room for businesses, the change is only temporary. With the ban still on the horizon, now is the time to review your payment processing costs, pricing strategies and cash flow to understand how these changes could impact your bottom line.

From today (1 October 2026), card payment surcharges are no longer available across the major card networks - meaning businesses that have relied on surcharges to recover payment processing costs need to rethink how those costs are built into their pricing.

If you haven’t already, today is a good time to ask:
