Doing your own tax return this year?
Just remember you've got until 31 October. That's a Saturday this year, so aim for Friday the 30th to get your tax return lodged.
After that, if you owe tax, the ATO can start charging late lodgment penalties.
But what if you need more time to get your tax in order...
If you're on a registered tax agent's books by the 31st, you can usually lodge later
As long as you didn't have any earlier returns outstanding.
A lot of people don't know this, so they don't take advantage of it.
So if your receipts are still in a shoebox (or the glovebox), give us a call by Friday the 30th. If we can take you on, we'll get you on our list and sort it from there.
