📢 June Quarter Super Reminder & Upcoming Changes from 1 July 2026

The June quarter super contributions (April–June) are due by 28 July. Paying on time helps you avoid unnecessary costs, remain compliant, and support your employees' retirement savings.

From 1 July 2026, the new Payday Super rules will change how and when employers pay super. Rather than making quarterly contributions, employers will generally need to pay super much more frequently, in line with employees' pay cycles.

If you have any outstanding super obligations, it's often more cost-effective to resolve them now rather than later.

At HD Accountants Pty Ltd, we can help you prepare for the new requirements by reviewing your payroll processes, ensuring compliance, and making the transition as smooth as possible.

📅 Reminder: June Quarter Super contributions are due by 28 July.
Contact us today if you'd like help getting ready for Payday Super.

Getting Tax Right: Tax Deductions You Can Claim 💡
Want to pay less tax? It starts with understanding what tax deductions you’re entitled to claim. A tax deduction reduces your taxable income—meaning less tax to pay.
3 simple rules to remember: ✔ You must have spent the money yourself (and not been reimbursed) ✔ The expense must be directly related to earning your income ✔ You must have records to prove it
You may be able to claim deductions for work-related expenses, including:
• Vehicle & travel expenses If you use your car for work or work across different locations (home-to-work travel usually doesn’t count)
• Clothing, laundry & dry-cleaning Only for occupation-specific or logoed uniforms (not everyday clothes)
• Self-education expenses Courses, textbooks, stationery, internet, home office costs and some travel (if related to your current role)
• Home office expenses Computers, phones, internet and running costs (work-related portion only this is a common mistake!)
• Investment income deductions Interest, account fees, subscriptions, internet access and depreciation
• Tools & equipment Work tools, safety gear, protective equipment and office equipment • Gifts & donations – To ATO-endorsed deductible gift recipients (DGRs)
• Other deductions Union fees, tax-agent fees, income protection insurance (outside super), overtime meals and personal super contributions
For more information, visit ato.gov.au/occupations or watch the ATO’s guide on claiming deductions.

Why outsourced accounting helps nonprofits stay compliant

Running a nonprofit requires a delicate balance between advancing your mission and managing day-to-day operations. One of the most time-consuming and detail-oriented tasks is bookkeeping. For many small to mid-sized organizations, internal bookkeeping can quickly become overwhelming, especially when staff wear multiple hats. Outsourcing bookkeeping can be a practical solution. It allows nonprofits to maintain accurate, up-to-date records without adding stress to already stretched teams....
