Accountants spared from loan certification: CPA Australia A change to the Banking Code of Practice will prevent members of the Australian Banking Association from requesting accountants to certify a businesses ability to pay a loan.

Tax Return Scammers. Please please if you get messages from your MyGov saying you have lodged your return and you haven't. DO NOT click on the message and DO NOT ignore it in case it is legitimate! Login to your MyGov and see if a return has been lodged. Then contact the ATO immediatly in hope they can stop the refund from going to some scammer. Unfortunatly we have had a couple of clients get their MyGov accounts hacked and the wider accounting community has a astronomical amount of this happening. They lodge your return with their bank account details and pocket your refund. Then they lodge an amendment to add in deductions / false tax credits and pocket that refund. It usually takes it to be the third lodgement for someone to realise what is going on by then thousands are lost...
