💛 Today, we’re making time to ask.

It’s R U OK? Day — a reminder that meaningful conversations can start with one simple question:

“R U OK?”

This morning, our team is taking a little time away from our desks to share a Morning Tea, connect with each other and check in. ☕💛

Because looking after the people around us doesn’t always require a big gesture. Sometimes, it’s simply making time to listen.

Remember the four steps:
💛 Ask — Start the conversation.
👂 Listen — Give them your full attention.
🤝 Encourage Action — Support them to seek help if needed.
💛 Check In — Follow up and show you’re still there.

You don’t need to fix someone’s problems. You just need to be willing to listen and show that you care.

And while today is R U OK? Day, the conversation doesn’t have to end today.

Ask R U OK? Any Day.

☕ Take five minutes today. Check in with someone who matters to you.

Being busy is easy to measure.
Progress is harder—but far more valuable.

A business can have full calendars, long task lists and a team that is constantly working, yet still be standing still.

The better question is:

What actually improved this month?

Look beyond activity and review outcomes such as:

→ Are margins improving?
→ Is cash flow becoming more predictable?
→ Are customers receiving better value?
→ Are systems becoming more efficient?
→ Are you making better decisions with your numbers?

Activity keeps the business moving.

Progress makes the business better.

Take a few minutes at the end of each month and ask: “What is better now than it was 30 days ago?”

That question can reveal far more than a task list.

What would you measure as real progress in your business?

Tax time can be a good reminder to look beyond the obvious expenses.

Some legitimate work-related expenses can be easy to overlook — particularly when you haven't kept the supporting records together throughout the year.

Depending on your circumstances, you may need to consider things such as:

• Work-related travel
• Eligible uniforms or protective clothing
• Work-related education
• Tools and equipment used for work

But there's an important distinction:

Paying for something for work doesn't automatically make it deductible.

Generally, you need to meet the relevant requirements and keep appropriate records to support your claim.

So before you lodge, don't just ask:
“What did I spend?”

Ask:

“What did I spend for work, what can I legitimately claim, and do I have the records to support it?”

Save this as your tax-time reminder.

Your business decisions are only as good as the numbers behind them.

A strong revenue figure can look great on paper — while profit margins are shrinking, cash flow is tightening,
or costs are quietly climbing.

That’s why good business owners don’t just look at the numbers.

They understand what the numbers are telling them. When your financial information is accurate, current and meaningful, you can make better
decisions about pricing, spending,
growth, cash flow and profitability.

Sometimes, it only takes a few minutes to let someone know they matter. 💛

A coffee and a conversation.
A quick phone call.
A thoughtful message.
Five minutes of genuinely asking how someone is going.

These small moments can create space for someone to open up and feel heard.

You don’t have to solve their problems. You don’t have to have the perfect response.

Just ask, listen and show that you care.

Because a simple “R U OK?” can be the beginning of a conversation someone really needs.

💛 Who will you check in with this week?

Financially confident business owners don't wait until the end of the financial year to find out how the business is performing.

They create a rhythm.

Every month, they review what happened, understand what's changing, look ahead at cash flow and make decisions while there is still time to act.

The goal isn't to spend hours analysing spreadsheets.

It's to know enough about the business to answer one important question:

“What should we do next?”

Small, consistent financial habits can create much greater clarity over time.

Which monthly habit would make the biggest difference to your business?

Your bank balance tells you where your cash is today.

Your accounts receivable days can help you understand how efficiently your business is converting sales into cash.

If customers are taking longer to pay, your revenue may continue to look strong while the cash available to run the business becomes tighter.

That’s why tracking the tre
nd—not just the total amount outstanding—can give you an earlier opportunity to review payment terms, follow up outstanding invoices and improve your cash flow management.

A healthy business isn’t just about making sales. It’s about turning those sales into cash.

Save this Reel and check your accounts receivable days at your next numbers review.

Worried you’ll say the wrong thing?

You don’t need the perfect words. You don’t need to be a counsellor. And you don’t need to have all the answers.

You can simply start with a genuine question:
“R U OK?” 💛

Then remember:
ASK — Start the conversation.
LISTEN — Give them your full attention.
ENCOURAGE ACTION — Help them consider support.
CHECK IN — Follow up and show you’re still there.

A meaningful conversation doesn’t have to be complicated.

Sometimes, being willing to listen is the most important thing you can offer.

💛 Tag someone who always makes people feel heard.

Revenue. Profit. Cash flow. They sound similar — but they answer three very different questions.

A business can be generating strong revenue and still have cash tied up in unpaid invoices.

It can be profitable on paper while cash is being absorbed by expenses, repayments, inventory or timing differences.

That’s why looking at one number alone can give you the wrong picture.

Think of it this way:
📈 Revenue: What did we sell?
💰 Profit: What did we earn after expenses?
💧 Cash flow: What money is actually moving in and out?

The real question isn't simply:

“Are we making money?”
It’s:
Are we selling enough?
Are we profitable?
Is cash actually available?

Understanding the difference helps you make better decisions before a cash-flow problem becomes a business problem.

Profit matters. But chasing profit on its own can make business owners focus on the wrong things.

A healthier approach is to understand what actually drives it.

Are your margins strong?
Are your costs under control?
Are you serving the right customers?
Is cash flow keeping pace with growth?
Are your decisions improving the underlying business?

When the fundamentals are working together, profit becomes the result of a healthier business—not something you have to chase every month.

Which business driver do you think has the biggest impact on your profit?
