NDIS TIP: Don’t just check how much funding you have left — check where it sits.

Your NDIS plan may have funding across different support categories, and not all funding can always be used in the same way.

That means seeing a healthy overall balance doesn’t necessarily mean there is enough funding available for a particular support.

It’s a good idea to regularly check:

-how much funding remains in each category
-how quickly each budget is being used
-whether your spending is tracking evenly across your plan period
-whether there are any areas of significant underspend or overspend

At Braveheart Plan Managers, we help participants keep a clearer picture of their NDIS budgets, and through the Careview Advantage app, you can view your funding and invoices anytime.

Keeping an eye on your budget throughout the plan can help avoid surprises later.

Need help understanding your NDIS budget? Send us a message — we’re happy to help.

The NDIS Amendment Act has now passed Parliament, and a number of changes will be introduced over time.

For plan-managed participants, one important message is this: there is no need to panic, but it will become even more important to keep invoices, records and claims up to date.

One key upcoming change is that, from 1 December 2026, claims for NDIS supports will need to be made within 90 days of the service being delivered. This means participants, families and providers should avoid holding invoices for long periods before sending them to their plan manager.

There are also future changes coming to plan management, including a new government-approved list of plan management providers from 1 October 2027, with a transition period.

At Braveheart Plan Managers, our commitment remains the same: to support our participants with care, accuracy, clear communication and responsive service. We will continue to monitor these changes and help participants, families and providers understand what they mean in practical terms.

We are also available to answer enquiries from participants, nominees, support coordinators and providers who would like clear and personalised plan management support.

If you are looking for a plan manager, or thinking about changing plan managers, we are currently welcoming new participants. Please send us a message here or fill in our “Sign Up” form on our website:

The NDIA has recently announced increased checks on older claims, which means it is a good reminder for participants, families and providers to send invoices through as soon as possible after supports are delivered.

At Braveheart Plan Managers, we help participants stay on top of their NDIS budget, invoices and provider payments, while keeping the process clear and organised.

A few simple tips:

Send invoices promptly
Make sure invoices include correct dates of service
Check that supports relate to the participant’s NDIS plan
Keep receipts and supporting information when needed

Clear records help avoid delays and make the NDIS easier to manage.
