Most business owners don’t realise how much their bookkeeping is actually costing them.
Not in fees, but in time, stress, and missed opportunities.
If your books aren’t up to date, you’re likely:
• Making decisions without accurate numbers
• Falling behind on BAS and compliance
• Spending late nights chasing invoices and receipts
• Missing cash flow issues before they become serious
Good bookkeeping isn’t just data entry, it’s the foundation of a well-run business.
At Jiah Financial, we work with business owners who want clarity, structure, and confidence in their numbers.
If your bookkeeping feels like it’s falling behind (or taking too much of your time), it might be time for a better system.

If you use your mobile for work, you may be able to claim part of your phone bill as a deduction.
✅ Only claim the work-related portion
✅ Keep a 4-week diary or itemised bills
✅ Can’t claim separately if using the 70c/hr WFH fixed rate.
Our tip: Use the actual cost method if you want to claim mobile separately while working from home.
Keep records for 5 years.

Drive between job sites or see multiple clients in a day?
You could be eligible to claim up to $4,400 as a tax deduction using the cents per kilometre method — no logbook required!
For the 2025 financial year, the ATO has increased the rate to 88 cents per km, up to a cap of 5,000 km. This method is perfect for those with regular, short-distance work travel.
✅ Simple
✅ No logbook
✅ Claim up to $4,400
But remember — travel must be work-related (not home-to-office), and you’ll need to show how you calculated the distance (think: calendars, diaries, rosters).

2. It directly relates to earning your income
3. You’ve got the records to prove it
No receipts? No deduction.
