The Government announced changes to superannuation guarantee from 1 July 2026. This measure is not yet law but is expected to pass.
Employers will be required to pay their employees’ superannuation guarantee (SG) at the same time as their salary and wages.
They will be liable for the superannuation guarantee charge (SGC) unless contributions are received by their employees’ superannuation fund within the required timeframe, generally 7 business days after payday.

The Small Business Superannuation Clearing House (SBSCH) will be retired from 1 July 2026.
