🎉 A very special milestone to celebrate today.
Ten years ago today, Carolyn Hancock became a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand — and what a decade it's been since.
As Founding Director of Aspirant Advisory, Carolyn has built more than a career; she's built a firm grounded in genuine care for clients, a commitment to doing things properly, and a standard the rest of us strive to live up to every day.
Ten years of CA ANZ membership is a milestone worth marking on its own — but for those of us who get to work alongside Carolyn, it's really a celebration of everything she's brought to this profession and to our team.
Congratulations, Carolyn. Here's to the next ten. 🥂

The Federal Budget has introduced several measures that may create opportunities for small businesses and individuals:
• Invest in business assets with greater certainty: The $20,000 instant asset write-off has been made permanent for eligible small businesses, allowing immediate deductions for qualifying equipment and assets purchased and installed ready for use.
• Simplified tax deductions and future tax relief: A new $1,000 instant tax deduction will enable individuals and sole traders to claim eligible work-related expenses without the need to retain detailed receipts. In addition, the new $250 Working Australians Tax Offset (WATO) will provide further tax relief.
• Support for businesses experiencing losses: Eligible companies will be able to carry back current-year tax losses and potentially receive refunds for tax paid in the previous years, helping to improve cash flow during challenging periods.
• Future support for startups and early-stage businesses: The Government has also announced plans for a new measure aimed at supporting eligible startups and early-stage businesses, with further details expected to be released.
These initiatives are designed to reduce compliance costs, improve cash flow, encourage investment, and provide targeted support to businesses at various stages of growth.
We will also provide further guidance to our clients on other measures such as the 30% tax for trusts and the changes to the capital gains tax laws once released.

As a business owner and a mum, time is something I never seem to have enough of. Most days are spent juggling clients, deadlines, school runs, family life, and everything in between; so professional development often happens after hours.
Last night was spent finishing assessments to complete my Level 3 Xero Certified Specialist credential 🎉📊
Running a business means constantly learning and evolving so I can continue providing the best possible support and service to my clients. It’s not always easy finding the time, but growth is always worth the effort.
Behind every small business is a lot of unseen hard work, determination, and late nights. 💙

We were out this morning viewing new office space as the needs of our small business continue to grow.
It’s an exciting step forward, we are loving the fresh perspective and the view isn’t bad either!
Will share the details with all our clients soon 👏
