The government’s latest budget delivers modest personal income tax cuts—up to $268 in 2026-27 and $536 from 2027-28—alongside $20B+ in spending on energy, healthcare, education, families, and housing.

📌 Key measures to watch:
🔹 A tax on super balances over $3M (set for 1 July 2025)
🔹 The $20K instant asset write-off for small businesses (intended for this financial year)

⚠️ Neither has passed Parliament! If they don’t pass before the election is called, they’ll lapse.

Patience is the key here 🗝️ we recommend waiting until you have been marked as 'Tax Ready' in your myGov portal, we are most certainly happy to book appointments in advance however this may mean that all your information won't be up to date which means a longer wait time to lodge...longer wait time to get that refund.

1/6 TAX SEASON SERIES 🤍

Time for a new work bag? Well guess what? A few years ago the ATO allowed tax deductions on work bags that cost $300 or less. This handbag or work bag needs to be solely used for carrying work related materials such as laptop, documents, tablets, diaries etc and cannot be used for personal items.

Deductions can be made on the following types of bags;
Briefcase
Laptop bag
Satchels
Luggage
Handbag*
