An alleged GST fraud worth more than $1.3 million has led to charges against a NSW man, following a joint AFP and Australian Taxation Office investigation.

Investigators allege the 33-year-old man submitted fraudulent business activity statements between 2020 and 2022 to obtain GST refunds he was not entitled to.

Fraud against the Commonwealth isn't a loophole. It's a crime. The AFP and our partners are committed to preventing fraud and protecting taxpayers’ money.
