🏡 Downsizing your home as part of your retirement plans?
Selling the family home can free up significant capital — but deciding what to do with that money can have important consequences for your retirement.
You may be able to contribute some of the sale proceeds to superannuation using the downsizer contribution rules, but simply putting more money into super isn't necessarily the whole answer.
If you are receiving — or hoping to qualify for — the Centrelink Age Pension, the way your assets are structured after selling your home may also affect your future entitlement.
At Smart Wealth Financial Solutions, we can help you understand how downsizing fits into your overall retirement strategy, including:
✓ Downsizer contributions to superannuation
✓ Superannuation and retirement income strategies
✓ Centrelink Age Pension implications
✓ How the sale proceeds could affect your financial position
✓ Structuring your assets for retirement
✓ Creating sustainable retirement income
✓ Making the most of your next financial chapter
Downsize the house — not your retirement lifestyle.
Before deciding what to do with the proceeds from your home, get advice about how the pieces fit together.

ALWAYS ASSUMED YOU'D NEVER QUALIFY FOR THE AGE PENSION?
You might be surprised.
Many Australians enter retirement believing they have too much in super or too many assets to ever receive the Centrelink Age Pension.
But the rules are more flexible than many people realise.
With the right retirement planning, some people are able to improve their Age Pension entitlement while maintaining their lifestyle and protecting their wealth.
We can help you understand:
✔ Will you qualify for the Age Pension?
✔ When is the best time to apply?
✔ How does Centrelink assess your superannuation?
✔ Could restructuring your retirement income improve your entitlement?
✔ Are there legitimate strategies that may increase your Age Pension?
✔ How can you maximise both your retirement income and government benefits?
You may be closer to qualifying than you think.
Many retirees are surprised to discover they may be eligible for:
A part Age Pension
The Commonwealth Seniors Health Card
Pension Concession Card benefits
Additional government concessions and rebates
The first step is understanding your options.
