There's a lot to digest with one of the most significant overhauls of the Australian tax system in nearly three decades. Treasurer Jim Chalmers announced changes to capital gains tax, negative gearing, trust distributions, superannuation, and more. Almost every one of our clients will be affected in some way.

More info to come in due course, some of the details are still unclear and these changes do need to go through parliament.

Payday Super is coming from 1 July 2026.

This change means super will need to be paid at the same time as wages, rather than quarterly.

While there’s nothing to do immediately, it’s a good time to be aware of:
• Cashflow changes
• Payroll timing and processes
• System capability
