One of our amazing clients, doing amazing things! 🙌✨

Hello beautiful North West Coast families. For those who don't know me, I'm Jen - a midwife and muma of three precious humans and a puppy boy. After running/limping my way through the 21km last year following the loss of my besties twin baby boy Finley, this year I have chosen to gently walk the 10km keeping all families who have experienced loss in my 💞.

I recently had the heartbreaking privilege of caring for one of my previous midwifery group practice women in early pregnancy and through the loss of her precious daughter. I am doing this walk for Kate and Emmett and their beautiful daughter Poppy who was birthed just shy of 20 weeks gestation. And, as I do each and every day, I will also carry the memory of the most special twin boy Finley, his precious muma, papa, sisters and twin brother.

As we move in to the future of midwifery care I would love to see midwives in Tasmania supported to their full scope of practice - with midwife led early pregnancy and loss clinics and encouragement/support for midwifery continuity of care throughout the whole process. Care in pregnancy begins well before 20 weeks gestation and my hope is that our practice can actively reflect this. From roughly 6-7 weeks gestation when I discovered Kate was pregnant, until the day sweet baby Poppy was birthed, I was honoured (and well supported) to walk alongside Kate -and Emmet, ensuring they felt safe, well supported and enveloped in warmth, compassion and love.

Moments like these never leave our midwifery hearts.

Last year we raised $14,000 and this year we would love to match this, but we have a way to go!! So please beautiful families, if you have a spare $5 (or more) please dig deep for your community of families experiencing loss.
