Compliance is often viewed as the finish line. In reality, it's the foundation for better decision-making.
Accurate financial reporting provides visibility. Visibility creates confidence. Confidence allows business owners to make decisions based on reliable information rather than assumptions.
Businesses that consistently stay on top of their reporting obligations are often better positioned to respond to change, secure funding, identify opportunities and manage risk as they grow.
Compliance shouldn't be something that simply keeps you out of trouble. When supported by meaningful advice and commercial insight, it becomes a valuable tool that helps move your business forward.
Meeting your obligations is important—but understanding what the numbers are telling you is where the real value begins.
Discover how proactive accounting and business advice can help your business look beyond compliance.

Advice Before Decisions. Not After.
The biggest business decisions rarely begin with numbers on a spreadsheet.
Whether you're expanding into a new market, acquiring another business, restructuring your group, reviewing your tax position or planning your next stage of growth, the most valuable advice often happens before a decision is made—not after it's been implemented.
Seeking advice early gives you more options. It allows you to understand the commercial, tax and financial implications, identify risks and structure decisions in a way that supports your long-term objectives.
Too often, advisers are brought in after the contracts are signed and the opportunities to influence the outcome have passed.
At Rosenfeld Kant, we believe our role is to help clients make informed commercial decisions, not simply explain what happened once the year has ended.
The earlier the conversation starts, the greater the value we can provide.

For many business owners, an audit is something to tick off the list each year. In reality, a well- managed audit delivers value far beyond meeting a regulatory requirement.
A quality audit provides confidence in your financial reporting, strengthens governance and helps identify opportunities to improve internal processes. It can also give directors, lenders and investors greater assurance that your business has the systems and controls needed to support future growth.
The strongest businesses don't prepare for an audit simply because they have to. They see it as an opportunity to review how the business is operating, reduce risk and build confidence for the future.
When approached as part of a broader business strategy, an audit becomes far more than a compliance exercise—it becomes a valuable management tool.

The biggest challenge with Payday Super probably won't be understanding the legislation. It will be adapting long-established payroll and cash flow processes.
Businesses should already be reviewing:
• Payroll systems
• Employee information
• Cash flow
• Payment processes
Preparing early is likely to make implementation much smoother.

Growth is exciting. It also creates complexity.
More people. More reporting. More compliance. More decisions.
The businesses that continue growing successfully are usually the ones that strengthen their financial foundations before they become necessary.
Planning ahead creates confidence.

Good financial reporting does more than explain what happened last month.
It should help answer questions like:
〰️ Can we afford to hire?
〰️ Is our pricing working?
〰️ Where is profit really coming from?
〰️ Can we invest confidently?
Financial reporting isn't about producing more numbers.
It's about producing better decisions.
If you'd like to discuss how your reporting can better support decision-making, speak with your usual Rosenfeld Kant adviser or contact our team: +61 2 9375 1200 / [email protected].

When businesses experience financial pressure, tax is rarely the underlying cause.
More often it's a combination of:
〰️ Cash flow constraints
〰️ Weak reporting
〰️ Poor forecasting
〰️ Inadequate systems
〰️ Delayed decision-making
Tax is often the symptom, not the problem.
The strongest businesses build financial visibility long before issues arise. That's where good accounting adds real value.

If your business uses the Small Business Superannuation Clearing House, this should already be on your radar.
The Clearing House will close from 1 July 2026.
That means businesses should be:
✔ Reviewing alternative solutions
✔ Confirming payroll software is Payday Super ready
✔ Testing payment processes
✔ Checking employee super fund details
This isn't something to leave until the final weeks before implementation.
A little preparation now could prevent a lot of frustration later.

One of the biggest misconceptions about Payday Super is that it's simply a compliance change.
It's also a cash flow change.
The total amount of super you pay won't increase.
But the timing changes significantly.
Instead of holding super contributions until quarterly due dates, businesses will generally need to fund those payments throughout the year as wages are paid.
For businesses with growing teams, seasonal income or tight working capital, that shift deserves attention now, not in June 2026.
How prepared is your business for more frequent super payments?

Payday Super is coming.
The question isn't whether your business understands the new rules.
It's whether your systems, cash flow and payroll processes are ready.
From 1 July 2026, employers will generally need to pay super much closer to each payday, with contributions needing to be received by an employee's super fund within seven business days.
For many businesses, this is less about super and more about operational readiness.
Payroll. Cash flow. Employee data. Software.
The businesses that prepare early are likely to experience a smoother transition.
We've outlined what employers should be reviewing now in our latest article.
