THERE IS NOTHING MORE IMPORTANT THAN FAMILY- Hi I'm Harry Stavrinos and I'm a Registered Tax Agent & Accountant who has worked in our family-run Accountancy Practice in Belmore since 1998. My father Andrew Stavrinos started the practice in 1980 and we have been part of the Canterbury-Bankstown Area since that time, when we moved to Greenacre(44 years ago)

I was educated at Chullora Public school

The Greatest Gift in my life was the gift of becoming a Father.

Wishing you all a very Happy Fathers Day - spend time with your dad or think of your dad on this day!

PS- Lesson 1 in being a dad- don’t ever promise your kids to build them an 1800+ piece LEGO set. It will mentally drain you and take 10 years off your life!

My wife and I had the honour of attending the Charlotte’s Wish Gala Dinner tonight raising valuable funds for Kids Help Line.

Now more than ever the pressures of daily life affect everyone and bullying is becoming more prevalent particularly through Social Media. Once upon a time the bullying stopped after school hours but now it can go on for hours every day in front of much larger audiences.

Anything we can do to raise su***de prevention and eradicate bullying is a very worthy cause 🙏❤️🙌

ILLEGAL DUMPERS- YOU’RE ON NOTICE

Last year Canterbury-Bankstown Council issued 3151 fines for rubbish dumping totalling more than $1.1 million dollars.

Council also took 5 matters to court totalling a further $32,400 in fines.

If you think you’re going to get away with dumping your SH$T across our City THINK AGAIN- you risk getting caught and being fined.

DO THE RIGHT THING AND LOVE WHERE YOU LIVE 🙌

170,000 ADDITIONAL HOMES OVER THE NEXT 15 YEARS- How big a problem will Illegal Dumping become!

The State Government through its TOD’s is looking to add 170,000 homes in over 37 Precincts across the Sydney Metro area over the next 15 years. With illegal dumping already becoming a major issue for all councils, I’m now calling on the State Government to create a State Taskforce with collaboration between the EPA, Local Councils, Property Managers, Strata Managers, Community Housing Providers and any other stakeholders to set-up a statewide database of all unit blocks in NSW so that the moment a unit becomes vacant any rubbish can be collected promptly and efficiently.

I’ve also asked that any items that can be re-used/recycled be given to organisations who can re-purpose them.

Illegal dumping is bad now- JUST WAIT AND SEE HOW BAD IT WILL BECOME IN THE NEXT FEW YEARS.

If the State Government want to force Councils to take on extra density they need to take some responsibility for the dumping and rubbish that comes with it…

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH

I recently made enquires about the state of the road surface on Burwood Road Belmore. Council advised that the asphalt shoulder between Redman Parade & Leylands Parade will be done along with some damaged slabs in the traffic lane.

These works are planned to commence in early 2027. I’ve also been made aware that sections of Beamish Street Campsie are also scheduled for repair. I don’t know the time frame for those works.

A COMMON SENSE DECISION BY COUNCIL

I don’t care whether it’s Church Bells or Amplified Calls To Prayer every resident has a right to peace and privacy within their own homes. This isn’t an argument about religion it’s about protecting the amenity of residents!

I WISH A DAY WOULD PASS WHERE I
DON’T HAVE TO REPORT RUBBISH….. WHEN THAT DAY HAPPENS I CAN FINALLY SAY WE HAVE RESPECT FOR OUR COMMUNITY

How many of you would walk past a pair of socks or a toy on the floor in your place? NONE OF YOU WOULD- you would pick up the socks or the toy and put it away and then you would try to find out who did it so it won’t happen again.

Well the same applies to our streets- Respect our Streets the way you respect your own Home…… AND before some of you decide to make comment having a go at council, how about you ask yourselves “When was the last time you saw rubbish in the streets and reported it?”

Some of you say you do but I can honestly say VERY FEW call me reporting rubbish. All the requests I put through are through my own reporting keeping my eyes open…. AND before you have a go at the Council how about you question the ethics and values of some residents who think it’s their God Given Right to throw their rubbish wherever they like.

AM I ANGRY?? YES I AM … because some of you only know how to criticise the area and put it down. How about you do your part in reporting rubbish to me or to the council so that our streets can be cleaner!

PS- there were also 2 bags of Dog 💩 there too 😡

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Oz Arab Media and Jin Hui Qian for the interview.

It gave me the opportunity to not only thank our community for allowing me to be our community representative but it allowed me to convey a vision for our city.

Thank you 🙏
