Payday Super starts 1 July. Is your business ready?
From next month, super will need to be paid at the same time as wages instead of quarterly - and while most business owners have heard about the change, a lot haven’t had time to stop and think about what it actually means for the day-to-day running of their business.
Because this isn’t just a payroll update.
It changes how and when money moves through the business, puts more pressure on payroll processes being correct, and means employee super details and systems need to be up to date before payments start flowing every pay cycle.
With EOFY already keeping everyone flat out, now’s a really good time to review your setup, make sure your payroll software is ready to go, and think ahead about what more frequent super payments could mean for cashflow.
The businesses getting on top of this now will make the transition a whole lot smoother later.
And if you’re unsure where to start, or just want someone to sense check your setup, we’re here to help.

Ever since the Federal Budget announcements dropped, we’ve had a lot of clients asking the same thing:
“Should I be changing my structure?”
And honestly? Right now, the answer for most people is not yet.
There’s been a lot of noise around trusts, investment properties, negative gearing and tax changes lately - but most of the proposed changes aren’t even expected to come into effect until 2027 or later.
So before you panic-sell a property or restructure everything overnight, it’s worth slowing down and getting proper advice around what actually applies to your situation.
What smart business owners and investors are doing right now is reviewing things early.
Looking at whether their current structure still makes sense.
Thinking about future plans.
Understanding where they could be exposed.
And making sure they’re set up properly for what’s ahead.
That’s very different to making rushed decisions based on headlines or finance commentary online.
The biggest thing we’ve been saying to clients lately is: don’t panic, but don’t ignore it either.
Now’s a really good time to start the conversation, review your setup and make sure you’re heading into the next few years with the right strategy behind you.
