Are you still paying for Christmas 2023?
Christmas is expensive and whilst there's lots of ways to reduce the Christmas expenses, its still a time when we all want to spend more than normal, relax, enjoy ourselves and splurge a bit on our friends and family. There's nothing wrong with that and if you start planning now you won't have the reality of the Christmas debt hangover to deal with come January next year.

Money doesn't need to be complicated. I guarantee this will be the simplest money tip you will ever read and is a great way to recalibrate your thoughts when there is too much noise out there telling you what to do! š£ļø

A healthy relationship with money has the following elements: earner, saver, investor, spender and giver. The proportion of each will be unique to you.
Earner is pretty self-explanatory ā you need money coming in, preferably from multiple sources that donāt all require you to be actively doing something.
The saver provides security, but you need this in proportion to the investor and spender or you might feel really safe and secure but youāre actually just working really hard and not really enjoying life.
You donāt thrive without spending. From the finer things in life to making sure our basic needs are met we do need to spend money ā the more your spending is in line with your values, the more you will thrive and the healthier your relationship with your money will be. However, if you donāt have an element of saver youāre skydiving without a parachute.
The investor sees the wisdom in using money to earn more money either through investing in themselves to increase their income or investing in assets that generate income. Without an element of investor, youāre working hard but burning out.
Lastly, the often-underestimated giver. True fulfillment is the ability to give back and it's where many find their life purpose, however without an element of saver, investor and spender youāre trying to put on your own oxygen mask after youāve helped everyone else on the plane secure theirs.
And for those who want it put really simply: Spend less than you earn and do something smart with the difference!
Thereās a whole lot more to this conversation and a multitude of reasons why we donāt just decide to have a healthy relationship with money and make it happen. If you would like to work towards a healthier relationship with money, Iād love to chat with you.

Being Valentineās Week I thought why not continue the conversation around our relationship with money. š
I canāt stress enough that your relationship with money is one of the most important, and long lasting, relationships in your life. Itās critical to nurture it.
Whilst itās easy to say, āyou need a healthy relationship with money to truly thriveā, if you donāt know where youāre trying to get to itās a bit difficult to navigate getting yourself there.
So, what does a healthy relationship with money look like?
Often, we associate people who are āsaversā as having a good relationship with money and people who are āspendersā as having a poor one. Itās just not true and actually much more complicated than that.
If you would like to work towards a healthier relationship with money, Iād love to chat with you.

Dogs really do make life better. š
Introducing Candi, the newest addition to my family. Sheās an 8yr old Smooth Collie - like Lassie but with a short coat. Candi arrived late last year so I have been a bit delayed in introducing her.
I happened to see her photo on Facebook in one of the Collie groups and her breeder was looking for a family for her. Sometimes the time is just right, I wasnāt really looking for another dog but Smooth Collies arenāt popular so they arenāt easy to find and I thought she might be a good fit for us.
Turns out she is a great fit for us! š¾
Sheās really taken to āhomeā life (she was a kennel dog) and, as you can see, every couch is hers now! š¤Do you have an animal that helps turn your house into a home just like Candi?
Do you need a budget? If you want to be in control of your finances then the answer is always a resounding yes. š
Setting a budget creates an action plan. It provides you with a clear picture on where your money is ending up each month. It also helps you get off the treadmill of living from paycheck to paycheck, and enables you to sort out your money priorities and find that all-important balance between saving and spending.
